    In any case, did you think Mack envisioned Colt as his 4 year starter when he recruited him? Or was that job supposed to be Jevan Snead's? As for Case McCoy, I'm not really sure why he's on the team so it's tough for me to defend that one.

    McCoy was the 2nd QB in a class that at one time included Perilloux. Ryan was the QB target that season. Colt's arm wasn't that great, but his decision making and release were what set him apart.

    Let's also remember that Colt had a similar set-up to Manziel. He got to play his RS-Fr. year behind an OL that had 4 NFL guys on it, plus the reserves would form the OL that Texas used in 2008-2009 which contributed to a 25-2 record.

  • Why in the hell would Texas recruit Johnny Turnover? Seriously?

    We already have Case McCoy! Do we really need two of them?

    The guy is 5 foot nothing and has a hellicopter mentality behind one of the best lines in the nation. Not to mention he played in a district full of talentless clowns.

    Johnny Turnover had 3 interceptions against LSU and should have had 6.

    Don't believe the hype... Ash will play in the NFL. Johnny Turnover will be flipping burgers at DQ Country.

    Case and Johnny Turnover similarities... both the same height and weight. Both turn into a wrecked helicopter when there is any sign of pressure. Neither will even sniff a National Championship as a starting QB. Neither will play QB in the NFL.

    This is delusion rarely seen outside the likes of Texags. I'm impressed.

    Blindly supporting anything Texas while blindly discounting anything not-Texas doesn't make you some great fan. It makes you a burnt orange aggy.

    I would trade Case McCoy for him... that's about it though.

    And the NFL means significant recruiting benefits at the QB position. It means more then you think.

    Does Texas need more recruiting benefits or do they need to make better selections? Texas hasn't exactly capatilized on VY and what he meant to high school kids in this state.

    I don't know that I'd agree with that statement. I'd say accumulating the talent for the 2008 and 2009 runs was a pretty good job of capitalizing on the 2004-2005 seasons.

    Well, every college football team needs more recruiting benefits.

    VY, McCoy, and now Ash seem to be ok. The lone miss was Garrett Gilbert. And Gilbert made sense at the time.

    Texas takes there picks of QB's in the state... I think Bomar is the only in-state kid that we didn't land.

    Call it a "miss" or call it piss poor management of the postion and depth chart, but Sherrod Harris, GJ Kinne, and John Chiles also say 'hello'.
