Still curious what some of you people were expecting on defense. Did yall think Manny was going to use a totally different scheme or we were going to have massive personnel changes?
Just for the record, I don't like Manny's philosophy at all and was hoping he would have gone somewhere else, but, I have just resigned to the fact we are just going to depend on guys having more experience.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
Regarding #7, as the resident contrarian, let me point out that we were all here in 2011, and we all saw this scheme can work, with the right players of course. Is that not true? Were we all tripping over ourselves this time last year begging for Diaz to take the keys? I mean, other than different players, what's different about last year? Am I supposed to think that Diaz miraculously forgot how to coach in 2012?
I'm not necessarily a Diaz apologist, but this over the top criticism of Diaz, to me, is just as absurd and as knee-jerky as us trying to crown him as the greatest DC that's ever lived just some12 months ago.

#6 and #7 are contradictory in the fact that Manny's schemes are finesse by nature because you don't have the manpower to play straight up and be physical.
I'm pretty sure that Muschamp's last defense finished the year in the top 10 in adjusted stats and very well over all. Yeah, they had some warts, but laying UCLA at their feet is to lack context.
I've never seen an offense sabotage a good defense like the 2010 unit with perhaps the 2011 unit being the lone exception. People continually bagging on that group of defenders don't particularly impress me with their football acumen.
