It's great to hear that the secondary is tackling well. That should be a basic requirement for playing time. If you can't tackle, then you can't play no matter how well you cover.

Interesting to hear 2nd team LB was giving the offense problems. Of course 2 of those guys were starters last year.

I hope Evans emerges. He's got so much speed, it'll really help the D.

A good tackler in the secondary that can fly is invaluable.

Probably because they never did any tackling in practice...

They do play 1vs1s, it's just not on every series. It's more situational.

As for the tenor of our reports, I think it's important to remember that if one side wins, the other loses.

I think the offense is going to be a team strength this year but we were also told that Texas worked a lot of run game yesterday. With two starting OLs sidelined, my guess is there was a little drop off in that category is all.

I'd pay more attention to the hard-and-fast details of what we wrote. Things like Adrian Phillips playing better, Kendall Sanders making a move, Dalton Santos starting, David Ash with an option keeper for 15 yards, those things are items an astute fan can really grasp on to.

Nobody does that anywhere.

It's common practice to let your 1st units see success against the 2s, then push the 1vs1s situationally.
