If we lose to OU next season...

  • If we lose to OU next season our whole staff should be cleared. I know the staff is getting after it in recruiting but OU has almost everyone leaving and they aren't recruiting worth crap to replace the players leaving. If we lose to OU next season that would be the 4th year straight and with the talent we bring in that should be completely unacceptable. hookem

We thought the same in the spring of last year -- the OU team was in shambles with at least one team member walking out on the team, and the Texas fan base thought we would beat OU hands down. We lost anyway and OU goes to a BCS bowl game... If winning against OU is the only criteria, the coaching staff should already have been fired by now...

  • It's not 'if', and it's not when (October 12), the unknown is by how much?

Think back to August 2012, remember all the OL problems OU was having? Didn't they have about three starts get hurt, quit, etc.? And because of this Mack clap held them to 63!!!!

They didn't go to a BCS game, just another bowl game better than Mack can muster as usual.

Not losing that much man. Most of the offense is coming back and the DL leaving just may be a blessing.

There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.

You're losing a 4 year starter at QB, A 879 yard WR, and probably a 959 yard WR. ON the other side of the ball you're losing 3 out 4 D-linemen and probably 3/4 of your secondary. And while losing Washington, Walker, McFarland and King may be a "blessing" they are starting because they were the best you have. You have very little depth and a small DL class coming in.

Papa: we have better athletes than ou but until our coaching staff takes this game seriously, we will continue to get hammered in Dallas.

At this point, Stoops is in Mack's head. Big Game could roll out 11 nuns on each side of the ball wearing OU helmets and Mack would struggle to win. Ou's defense doesn't necessarily strike fear in Snyder, Briles, Kingsbury, Sumlin, Holgersen, or Gundy, but somehow it makes Mack go into the fetal position.

Mack needs to win this game in the worst way as I see no way for him to survive with another loss and much less another blowout. Until we can turn the tide I'm not seeing any reasons for us to get amped regardless of what OU has coming into this game. It's always their Jihad game and they come out ready to play. I'm definitely tired of the recent outcomes and the only constant is having Mack on the sidelines.

Agreed. Next season sets up perfect for Texas to win this game and about 9-10 others. If Texas underachieves once again Mack will definitely be gone. Can't see him surviving another one. Used to argue that Texas had equal or better coaching but not any longer. My orange tinted glasses have been off the last couple of years. Stoops owns Mack.

  • If Texas loses to OU, and I'll mark it down as an L until I see something from this team and staff that says otherwise, Mack and company will be cleared out. It just won't happen until after the season is over.

The funny thing is that the staff will likely be cleared out if we beat OU and have a great season too.

I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.

  • Yeah, I said before this years game I'd be calling for his head with a loss, and it wasn't even a loss, it was a gang rape.

In all honesty, a loss this year will undo everything Mack has ever done in my eyes.I don't care if he has to make a pact with the devil or cheat or what it takes, he better win. If it doesn't happen I won't just think he needs to go, I will hate his guts. He will be dead to me. I will curse his name, and talk sh*t about him as long as I'm alive.

I agree. I think this next year is it win or lose.
