I don't want to fire Mack,

  • I want him to be a co-ex-coach.

    What does a "co-ex-coach" do?

  • If I understand what you are saying, I've actually come to the same conclusion that if we can't get rid of Mack at least promote Major to head coach and put Mack in charge of
    (1) towels for the players to waive
    (2) history lessons about the opponent like when he spent valuable time in 2010 teaching the players about Iowa State's culture, their colors, the town and their history and why the stadium was named what it is and other highly valuable topics.
    (3) monitoring the sports talk shows for anything negative, then calling them to protest and to send them a strong letter.
    (4) monitoring all, and I mean all, of the various boards and to send strong letters to the moderators to delete any comments that are negative
    (5) orange slices and drink boxes for the kids (players)
    (6) making sure the fans come early, wear orange and be loud, even the blue hairs.
    (7) preparing the fans that we don't have to beat the best teams, but just win 10 games
    (8) entertaining the big cigars at his sprawling hacienda
The only condition would be that he have no input on coaching hires or terminations nor anything to do with practices, player personnel, or game plans, and no veto power in player evaluations.
It ain't much, but it may be all we can hope for.

He did some real coaching yesterday. They showed a shot of him getting the players back from the sideline so we did not get a flag. Now that's coaching.
