What part of town are you staying in? How old are you?

This. Austin is kind of spread out, and pretty big. There are several hundred restaurants, bars, clubs, etc.

My recommendations to you would vary drastically whether you are in your 20's, 30's, 40's-70's, and what kind of weather we have that weekend. There are several restaurants at the lakes that are great. 6th Street is more for college kids. 2nd-5th Street is more for the late 20's-50's/60's crowd.

Lots of variables in your question-

As far as parking there are several pay garages on Trinity street. They are all close to some of the big tailgating areas if that is what you are looking for. Not to far from the Beer Garden also which is a good place to go and get a few drinks and a bite to eat while watching some games or hanging out outside and listening to the local ESPN radio which is always set up there.

Should have been more specific. 2 couples in early 60's going on 39. Staying at team hotel Courtyard Marriott downtown. Looking for good sports bars, and tex-mex. Arriving on Thursday.

The price we paid for Tunsil was high, we could have bought 2 of Alabama's recruits for what we paid for him.

Been to San Antonio many times but not to Austin. Have heard it is a great place.

Texas fans are extremely friendly. You must go by Scholz before the game and tailgate wherever. Most everyone will welcome you. Most every bar will be packed after the game, just dive into anything you see.

FYI-Oil Can is a Homosexual bar.
