Gerry and Jeff are the best there is covering Longhorn recruiting. And the Statesman has a 100+ year history of covering the Longhorns.

Can't say enough how excited I am to be partnering with the Austin American-Statesman. I already felt very lucky to be on a team with Shannon Terry and Bobby and this adds to my continued excitement about the future of 247Sports.com

I can't begin to explain how excited I am about this move.
I can't wait to start working with Bobby, Gerry and Jeff.

This is a huge step that I know we are excited here and I feel everyone at the American-Statesman is as well. I think you all will love what the partnership between the two entities will develop into going forward and, as Gerry said, it only amplifies my excitement about the future of 247Sports.

Definitely a game changer. IMO, Mack is biased against internet news outlets and considers them subordinate to traditional print organizations. In fact, I had heard he separates the two for Q&A purposes, though I'm not sure if that's true. This move seems to position 247 well in the race to lead this market.

This is truly a great day for Hookem.com. The old site was a labor of love for the past 18 months and I couldn't be happier to merge with 247sports.

This site is becoming the best site for Longhorn sports in a very short time........I am sure the publishers at IT and OB are very concerned. This site will have good writers, people with excellent inside sources and good talent evaluators.......congratulations guys and keep up the good work!
