This is amazing....I like this approach by Texas. This way we don't get blindsided like A'shawn did.

With Mack's stance during his signing day press conference that he wouldn't take a commitment until the parents and the high school coach signed off on it, man are wondering if it held to form.

I like this stance. The coach is the guy who can most closely monitor a recruit's intentions via teammates and daily interaction. Time to hold the coach in check for those random, unannounced visits to the school by other colleges.

Just watch the curse unfold on A'shawn and others will take notice. This is a surprising commit but I'll take it. Aggies had already loaded themselves up and want Whitley too. I really want Us to meet Aggie in a bowl game soon and beat the piss out of them.

Every program goes through this at some point, look how look it took bama and ND to even to this point, Texas is coming back up. Might have taken 4 years, but we are almost there. Major will do a great job with the O and Diaz will shock a lot of people with the D. Just watch..Hook'em pride baby!!

Diaz?? I thought he was on vacation. No word of him in the last month. Anyone see him? Maybe he is working on the muggers for his defense and that way the middle will be wide open and you our opponets can run for miles & miles.

Right. No more spin after hearing MB's comment,"...one of the best defenses we've had since I've been here", last August. We all know what happened.
I am into cautious optimism/believe-it-when-I-see-it mode, though Hampton's JR year commitment is a potential positive.

Agree completely but it also opens up UT looking around the minute that they start looking around.
No problem at all with a kid not committing. However, if you commit, mean it or if you look around, know that Texas is going to look around too.

I'd like to be excited about this, but it's just kind of tough when the kid openly admitted he wanted to go to A&M and they wouldn't accept his commitment.
I realize the kid is a baller and I hope that we get some equally impressive athletes to go along with him. I just really fear that Manny Diaz is becoming an albatross for defensive recruiting. Time will tell, I guess.

Have faith man...I understand what you are saying, but this approach at least lets us know that we have at least a 90% chance of the kid staying true to his commitment.

I'd say that one didnt hurt at all. It helped not having to see him screw up chemistry worse here.
