I agree with you on Evans...At some point, he is going to have to give up track as it appears his hammie's cannot take both at a college level...I doubt we see him at all in the Spring and he needs to be ready to go once summer hits...

Just watching him eat up ground on the Diggs punt return at Aggy was exciting...I hope this is not the point in his college career where he starts to stagnate and get passed by all the incoming talent..,It will be big for Evans if we get one of the big time OOS safeties...and not for the better..

As much as the Longhorns like having these track/football players, it seems to me that most the time it ends up hurting the student/athlete in both sports.

The problem (as I see it) is the two sports require different types of bodies/strengths. So the players are constantly playing catch-up because they're trying to adjust back and forth

The indecision on the OL is somewhat annoying, if you ask me.

It is not a new development that Espinosa needs another year in the weight room to overcome the obvious weakness other teams began to exploit towards the end of 2011. Everyone could see it.

Given that he must literally grow new human strength, which takes months, not weeks, why wouldn't we go ahead and make the switch?

Second question, although Walters was a C in H.S., I've read a number of times that we are playing to some weakness of his by putting him at C for the passing game. Can you say more about what this 'weakness' is that gives some reservations to move him to C?

Third question, if Walters is better at G than C, why aren't we moving Hopkins to C, Flowers to LG, and leaving MW at RG?

This seems the more obvious route, but something is preventing Searles from going there. What are your insights on this?

Its five months between now and August. At this point; Searles is experimenting and giving other people time to learn center. The final decision won't be made until pre-season camp after the staff has had to see how much strength Espinosa has gained.
