Griffin Gilbert - different than what you've heard

Maybe Mack and Wyatt like the kid and think he has the ability / football smarts to be a player. Correct me if i'm wrong, but our highly touted team of defensive players that were mostly high level recruits got consistently lit up by more than a few guys that would have received the same response by UT fans as Griffin Gilbert is getting now. Personally, I will trust in Mack and hold back on judging the kid before he gets a chance. Not every player in America has to be a "top 100" kid to turn into a good player.

I'd be happy if Griffin Gilbert was full offered. I think that he could help out Texas in the Red-Zone Offense from day 1.

Thanks for the down votes. Apparently having some faith in Mack and allowing a kid a chance to prove himself are bad ideas. I don't mind anyone disagreeing with me, but I think the down votes are a bit harsh. Sorry guys, great football teams are not made of 100% superstars. Griffin Gilbert is a hard working young man with talent. Or, maybe Gary Patterson can't recognize talent?
