Dabo always seems like a moron to me. No thanks. I will take Chavis in a heartbeat though. How about Haslett from the Redskins?

Patterson will never be the coach at Texas. Too much baggage. Just think about this, minus the feds getting involved this past off-season, would anyone have ever known about the drug issues at TCU?

Spare me the high and mighty bullshit. Mack oversaw a sexual assault case within the football offices, and had he had his way, the person involved would still be here. So Any holier than thou stance rings pretty hallow.

Not really. There are plenty of great coaches that don't have the baggage of Patterson. I personally think he would be a great choice at Texas, but do realize that there is a good chance that Texas players would routinely be on news casts, and not in a good way, with him here.

West Virginia beat those guys 70-33 in last year's Orange Bowl. Clemson looked like a Mack Brown coached team. No thanks. Seen enough blowouts from Mack. Will see another one next Saturday. Unless I don't watch.

Outside of the big name targets (Saban, Kelly, etc), I would love to see James Franklin or Pat Fitzgerald.

LSU would give us Chavis for free. Ask any Tennessee fan about him too. Anything is an upgrade over Iaz but Chavis is NOT the answer.

Texas players have routinely been on news casts anyway. Might as well get a coach who isn't a bumbling, clapping moron.
And while I agree there's plenty of viable options, not many would be able to make a seemless transition like GP would, imo.

True. Mack did not come to Texas with any known baggage, but that would certainly have been a huge question mark coming to Texas. Patterson has the question mark b/c it prior to (hopefully) coming or being considered.

If Texas makes a move, they need to either hire Nick Saban, Gary Patterson, Will Muschamp, Mike Gundy or Art Briles. Anybody else would be an unnecessary risk.
