Mace, keep your eyes on the road and no blog entry's while driving!! Lol....

I respect the hell outta what you do btw.

Thanks a lot. I really do appreciate that.
With regards to keeping my eyes on the road, that goes for all of you as well. The roads of this country are a very dangerous place right now. I swear to you, I watch cars pass me all day everyday. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you 7 out of 10 cars that pass me the driver is preoccupied with thud phone going 70-75 miles an hour down the road. I ask all of you to please focus on driving. Whatever you are doing on the phone can wait. You are not only putting your life in jeopardy, but the lives of all those around you. Rant over.

    Great thread Papa.

Reading some of the responses of peoples occupations, I'm probably the lowest class member here, but I'm a cross country truck driver, but I do own 4 trucks so I'm a (very) small business owner.

    Civil Engineer or Defensive Coordinator.

City skylines are passion of mine. I could tell you most anything you want to know about the height of most buildings, when they were built, etc. I'm a stat nerd with city populations, metro populations, growth trends, etc and where they rank.

If it wasn't for truckers us common folk wouldn't be able to buy the shit we want (unless it was made in our own region). Ain't nothing wrong with being an OTR driver...especially one that owns a rig(s).

I had to put out a forest fire once. With a platoon of soldiers armed only with shovels. In the middle of an active military training range. While unexpended ammo cooked off all around us. That was fun.

If you possess a bachelors degree in a field that you could possibly teach, then you can. You might have to start at the bottom like junior high then work your way up to assistant then head coach. I've seen people do it in 4 years from JH all the way up to HS head coach, especially in the small towns.

Actually that is not what I have been told. I do hold a bachelor's degree in Business Management but you have to be certified to teach in school. I did the program at Sam Houston State where you do a post bac on your major, take your content exam and then look for a job and be and intern for one year. After that year you take the certification exam and you are done. I just have not been able to find anyone who would hire me to teach business courses. Looked everywhere, at first I wanted to be involved with basketball team as I was doing that 1yr internship but nobody would hire then I said forget that and just looked for a job and nothing. It's been four years since I finished those courses and all I have out of it is paying back a student loan.

I accidentally left out the certification part but the internship is new to me. I've seen professionals leave their field, get their certification & step right into the classroom. Hmm, must be some new stuff that I'm not aware of, which is odd considering I'm in the teaching/coaching field going on 15 years. I did do an internship when I was in college but it was my understanding that if you had been in the private sector but wanted to teach, yeah you might have to take a couple education courses, get your certification then get hired. However, getting hired as a teacher can qualify as a job itself these days as districts are cutting back budget-wise & letting some teachers, aides & support staff go. My district had to cut down on positions & matter of fact, the coaching staff has been pared down to 10 overall (5 boys coaches & 5 girls coaches), losing 2 positions from years past. I'm sorry if I gave bad info.

No man thanks for the advice. What Sam Houston State did was offer theses post baccalaureate courses where you learn to teach classes in middle school and high school.. After you pass those classes you need to pass your content exam which I did. After that you apply for a teaching job and let them know you are part of this program. If they hire you Sam Houston State checks on you once or twice a year because they consider it a class. At the end of the year your courses are considered complete and you are done with the courses and you have to take the certification exam. I believe if you fail it they can keep you another year and you can take it again. If you happen to know of anyone openings let me know.

Jeff, I have a question. My Brother-in-law's house has survived the night, but the fire line in Colorado Springs is a few hundred yards from his house now. His house is very near the )( marking on the north west side (kinda middle west side) near the Air Force Academy - using the picture in the attached link.

The fire appears to be going around the neighborhood following the )( symbol's path (to the north and east)

What does that symbol mean? is it the path of the fire or is it the path the fire fighters are working on getting it to follow? Or is it something else entirely different?

I could stand getting paid to play golf. Professionally would be nice, but if anyone would like to pay me to play golf and watch college football I could probably be talked into it. I'd work cheap too.

My brother-in-law is a truck driver and he's one of the finest people ever. Also, if you were ever stuck on a desert island he's the one you'd want by your side (after Jennifer Lopez) - the guy can do/fix anything.
