Garrett Greenlea photos and info

I took in Klein Collins practice on Tuesday afternoon and Garrett Greenlea impressed as expected. He is a shade under 6'7" without shoes on and 300-pounds after reporting at 309-310 last week. He reported a recent 5.1-forty yard dash at his current weight, which is impressive even though 40's don't mean much of anything when evaluating a lineman. At this time a year ago, he was in the 330 range on the bench press and is up to 395-400-pounds right now. His head coach commented on how much stronger he has gotten. He has also improved his squat by 40-50-pounds and kept his quickness, which is the key.
For a guy his size, I was impressed with how low he fired off the ball and how he kept the feet moving. He may not have the elite level knee bend of some others, but he is very strong, fires his hands and hips with a nasty streak and is a max effort lineman. He looked to hit on every snap and held his block through the whistle even when he did

Looking at the 1st pic I would love to knwo what his wingspan is.

I remember when photos of Greenlea in Mack's office were posted on shaggy. I was amazed at how little bad weight he had. He didn't look fat at all. He almost looked.... trim. I have really high hopes for this one... he's growing into a monster.

Million $ Q. Westerman is very good as a right tackle and probably will feel most comfortable/adapt to the speed of the game best there where he doesn't have to change much in terms of footwork.

I am really excited about Greenlea...this kid has some SERIOUS potential. I don't want to jump too far ahead but I see some Leonard Davis in him.

Seriously big kid. Will fill out to 325 easily. If he has the feet to maneuver that bulk, he will be a good one. Any idea if he will be an early entry. If he is, he looks ready to contribute in 2011.

I've become a huge fan of Greenlea's as of late. I really think that kid is gonna be something special when he arrives at the 40. Maybe good enough to not redshirt

I think Westerman starts at RT (I believe his current position) because its entirely possible we will need him to start or be the 3rd tackle as a true freshman. If thats the case, then I look for him to immediately plug into the position that he is most comfortable with.
It will be interesting to see what our depth at OT looks like next year. I think ideally you would like to RS Greenlea (if you are going to play Westerman), but that might not be a possibility.
