  • Just don't know if Wood can get over that hump, where he goes from prospect to player. If he can, then he's the guy.

If he can't, then I think it's McCoy.

I agree. Other than the rainbow to Darius White, he actually had some really nice throws.

"Scrappiness" is just as useful as having "it" in CFB.

Even the rainbow wasn't GG bad -- he at least sent it down into single coverage inside the 5/10. I too have been in the GG camp all along. I bought into the concept that the poor line play gave him no time and caused him to throw rushed and without setting his feet, time and time again. I thought, better line play would fix the problems. I don't think that now.

The part that kills me is the number of times he decides to throw into double coverage. I understand it happens from time to time -- a safety rolls when you don't expect it -- a LB drops into coverage and you missed it -- a DE drops into coverage to cover a crossing route. Those are all understandable, but those aren't the double coverages he's throwing into. He's flinging it to the WR who was clearly double covered from the get go. Over and Over again. And in the Spring game where defensive coverages aren't even hidden! I think this is simply and completely unacceptable for a Junior QB at Texas.

I think that sums it up perfectly.

  • There's a frame by frame breakdown on GG's decision and throw to Mike Davis, easily guarded by Diggs. It is really depressing.
