I'm in Germany going to WTU in Fort Sam Houston by mid to late July. I'm married with kids that visit, but looking for a house with 3beds and two baths or similar in size. I know I could look on line to research but real estate agents have their own agenda so I ask some fellow Texans where to live and a little bit about the area in question. Thanks for your help in advance.

Just an FYI but if education for the kids is your key, Ft Sam and Randolph are the last two USA bases who have their own schools.
So living on base isn't a bad option from that point though I have no clue about housing on base.
thanks for your service.

Thanks for your service. I spent some time as a patient at the Ophthalmology Clinic at Ft. Sam back in the 1970's. They were pioneering the use of lasers and I was one of the first ten people in the world to have my retina welded with a laser. That was after glass punctured my left eye. It worked out far better than anyone anticipated as I had cataract surgery on my right eye last year and I am still waiting for symptoms to show up in my left eye.

Alamo Heights and surrounding areas are on the more expensive side. I do agree with the other posters that anywhere in the NEISD is decent and not too far from Fort Sam. If you're interested in the Cibolo Steele district I have a 3/2 for sale.
