If you disagree and want to downvote, fine, but why no rebuttal?

I'm not going to downvote (because I can't) but I am going to wonder where the Bolivian army is when you need them.

1. It would not be a huge mistake, because I am 100% certain there are a dozen coaches who can do a better job than Mack. Gary Patterson stole Mack's lunch money before giving him a swirly on Thanksgiving with a freshman "quarterback".
2. Mack has made a boatload of money, but now he is stealing it right back.
3. Whether or not you want Mack to be "part of the family" after he is done coaching should not matter at all. You evaluate him based on his product he puts on the field, and if that product is up to Texas' standards.
4. This run you speak of is overhyped, because it is based on the perception that 10 wins = success. And that is what Mack wants you to believe. It hides his shortcomings regarding OU and the conference championship.

Your entire post suggests that the University and the fans owe Mack something. This is a "what have you done for me now" profession. If you perform, you get paid handsomely. If you don't you fix it or get the hell out.

On a Saturday in October, I left at halftime so that I could go drown my face in waxy beer and Fletcher's corn dogs...it was when I was walking down the steps of the Cotton Bowl last year that I knew that I wanted Mack gone and wanted Mack gone after the season. Call me a hater...but that was how I felt then and how I feel now. It was only confirmed when I walked out of DKR on Thanksgiving night knowing how badly Gary Patterson had exposed Mack again...

How many more times do we have to see this stuff before the change is made? 5 more? 3 more? I say no more.

Never understood the fear aspect. And honestly don't respect it very much. Outside of Saban, Meyer and Kelly I can think of at least 20 coaches who could do a better job.

Several of Mack's predecessors have been fired for 3 yr records as good or better than 22-16. This 22-16 record includes a losing record in the Big12. Mack holds the dubious distinction of being on the ass end of the top 4 margins of defeat in the entire history of TX vs OU. Mack is also slipping with recruiting. More decommits and minor slides in class rankings for 2013. Talent evaluations also waning. Recruiting was Mack's "fastball". Not sure he's got that pitch anymore and all the while schools like BU, OSU, TCU, and A&M continue to rise.

Also, Mack has let assistants go that have impacted the team far less than Diaz holding yet another dubious distinction of fielding the worst statistically ranked defense in the history of Texas football. Yet Diaz is still here making $700k plus a yr.

Sorry, but a poster above is accurate in that Mack has made a lot of money for himself and Texas, but he's only deserving of a small fraction of what he's getting paid now, yet he hangs around and continues cashing paychecks.

I'd have absolutely no problem if Mack magically got us back on top, but his trajectory isn't supporting this happening anytime soon.

The program is bigger than any one person. Mack Brown has done a ton for this program and he arguably earned his 5 million per year....we do not owe him anything else. THAT'S WHAT THE MONEY WAS FOR, why is this concept so hard for people to understand? It's not like he is getting kicked out to the curb with nothing but the clothes he came in on. He helped bring this program up to a new level and we payed him millions upon millions of dollars for doing so. Now it's time to move on to the next guy and allow Mack to enjoy the $ that he earned.

2 conference championships in 15 years, while main rival has 8 in 14 years

As time goes on I care less and less about Macks feelings. And I'll tell you why. Mack has shown that he doesn't care about the feelings of millions of Longhorn fans every October in Dallas. He puts out the same scared team year in and year out. Gets his ass kicked and then has the nerve to say the same " Not our Standard" bs. If the aspect of Mack's feelings factors for a single second by the AD then it just reinforces my belief that Belmont needs to be carpet bombed and the old guard needs to be put out to pasture. Too hell with Mack's feelings and his concern about his legacy.

He had that with the 2009 season. So what if the QB got hurt and we didn't win the NC game? That made it an unsuccessful season?

I downvoted you for obvious reasons. There's nothing to explain. It's a retreaded topic with nothing but hope as a strategy. The upvote/downvote stuff is bizarre to me, but it seems like it was designed for threads like this, so thanks for giving me a chance to use it.
