Details about where to send the $$ are not out yet that I can find, but I know the downed law enforcement officer will have something set up soon. I will spread the donations to any funds set up in honor of the deceased civilians as well.

Geez, I go away for a few hours and all hell breaks loose. Whoa!

Full disclosure, which I've told some of you privately - I set this up on behalf of a family friend who wanted to generate some attention. Yes, I plan on donating (well, I actually already HAVE donated), but I have 2 backers that are putting up most of the money (covering the "per upvote" portion). I don't want this to seem like I'm the one giving all the cash, but the other guys want to remain anonymous. Needless to say, they are going to be shocked by the response today! I'm not sure what their ceiling is, but I'm sure we've hit it. And hopefully we've driven others to donate.

I am not sure what the amount of the donation will end up being, but I will report it if I can.

According to KBTX and The Eagle, the family of Christopher Northcliffe is still setting things up on their end. Frankly, this is the family that is driving this post. We knew the officer would get plenty of attention and wanted to make sure Northcliffe's family was not ignored. If anyone gets info on how to best donate to his memory, please post.

I am personally unfamiliar with setting up PayPal accounts to accept charitable donations. If anyone wants to start one for this purpose, feel free. I am just marketing the cause of the Northcliffe and Bachmann families.
