In response to groly's post that coaches aren't allowed to force offseason workouts, you said:
"I looked up naive in the dictionary, it said "see groly". I was confused until I saw this post."
What were you suggesting he was naive about then? I'm excited to hear your answer. People will go to lengths of absurdity to defend a failing point before admitting they were wrong.

Not failing. If you don't think coaches know who is attending workouts then you're a willful fool. And if Mack doesn't know who is attending workouts then he is the fool. I don't think it is a violation to base personnel decisions on level of dedication to improvement.

I don't know how hard it is to understand that while a coach can't say to a player "you must attend offseason workouts" or "they're mandatory" every coach worth a shit in America behind the scenes makes it known that if you aren't going all out in the summer it'll have grave consequences on your standing in the program in the fall. They aren't mandatory but they're definitely "mandatory". Especially if you want to ever play.
In 2010 Mack just didn't follow through to make this clear and therefore lost control of the program. That can't really be disputed much based on all the info out there.
