Fight in locker room

In response to groly's post that coaches aren't allowed to force offseason workouts, you said:

"I looked up naive in the dictionary, it said "see groly". I was confused until I saw this post."

What were you suggesting he was naive about then? I'm excited to hear your answer. People will go to lengths of absurdity to defend a failing point before admitting they were wrong.

Not failing. If you don't think coaches know who is attending workouts then you're a willful fool. And if Mack doesn't know who is attending workouts then he is the fool. I don't think it is a violation to base personnel decisions on level of dedication to improvement.

lol You didn't let me down.

Knowing who is attending and "forcing" (which is what you called groly naive for pointing out that coaches can't do) players to attend aren't the same thing.

    Just to tack on...

I know this happens elsewhere. It doesn't mean its legal to do it. I just don't think its fair to fault any coach for following rules.

Forcing vs Letting them know it has consequences is really semantics. Whatever helps you sleep better, dude.

  • I don't know how hard it is to understand that while a coach can't say to a player "you must attend offseason workouts" or "they're mandatory" every coach worth a shit in America behind the scenes makes it known that if you aren't going all out in the summer it'll have grave consequences on your standing in the program in the fall. They aren't mandatory but they're definitely "mandatory". Especially if you want to ever play.

In 2010 Mack just didn't follow through to make this clear and therefore lost control of the program. That can't really be disputed much based on all the info out there.

No it's not, but thank you for proving my point about not wanting to admit when you're wrong. I'll sleep just fine.

I don't agree with this at all. If Les Miles has a superstar that didn't attend a single offseason workout, Les is still going to start him. Same with plenty of other coaches.

I assume you just want the last word so badly you'll just post gibberish. I'll tell you what, quote this post and I won't respond. That way, you can show your wife how you "won" the debate.

    OK, ready? Go.

If the superstar doesn't attend any offseason workouts then others will slack too and any good coach or even Les Miles will jump his ass. They'll put up with off the field shit but they won't with having their best player slacking and ruining chemistry.

  • Why is our own fan base turning against one another? This is petty and stupid.

"Pavlov was this scientist guy, you know, and every time this dog would ring a bell, Pavlov would eat."

  • Whatever happened to "what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room"? This is info the public shouldn't really have access to. The Internet really sucks sometimes.
