The third batter Kansas sent to the plate laid down a bunt down the third base line and Weiss tried to make a tough throw to first. The bunt was ruled a hit because it would have been a tough play to make, but Weiss missed Silver at first, allowing Kanas' lead-off hitter to score.

Kansas tacks on two more in the 1st to take a 3-0 lead.

The error by Weiss and the decision to try to get the runner at 2nd by Curtiss really hurt the Longhorns. Weiss may not have been able to get the out at 1st, but the Jayhawks would have had the bases loaded and no runs instead of 2nd and 3rd with a 1-0 lead. And had Curtiss got the runner at first none of that would have happened anyway.

With as little pop as the Texas lineup has, you can't afford to make mistakes like that in the field. You just can't.

Maybe we will get lucky and this will end in 7. Time for this mule to be put down.

It looked like Texas was going to be able to get something out of that with the first two batters reaching and a nice bunt by Etier to put them on 2nd and 3rd, but Lusson Ks and Marlow flied to right to end the thread.

The bottom of Texas' order continues to not produce.

Top of the order coming up for the Longhorns. Texas going to need to capitalize when their better hitters are up.

As I type Mark Payton hits a double off the wall.

5-4-3 double play ends a decent threat by Texas. Longhorns are able to get one across, though. Payton's lead off double was followed by a single by Weiss to put Texas on the board for the first time in Oklahoma City.

It would have been much better to get more than 1, but considering how ineffective the bottom of Texas' order has been the Longhorns can't let the top half go around without getting something across. Should have been better, but I'm sure Augie will take 1 at this point in the game considering how yesterday went.

Silver drew a lead-off walk, his second of the game, and Stell successfully sacrifices him to second, but Jordan Etier and Kevin Lusson both go down to keep the score at 3-1 Kansas. Bottom of the order...pretty much what they've done all year.
