Erin Andrews leaving ESPN. She did great work for us & we made an aggressive offer to keep her. We wish her the best on her next chapter.

  • The football playoff is going to trigger a lot of things that we otherwise would not have anticipated. Recent speculation has been that ESPN might get real competition for the rights to the playoff from Fox and from a possible combo of CBS/Turner ala march Madness. Notre Dame may hold off on re-upping with NBC until their current contract expires, as a possible opportunity to open the bidding. Before you scoff at that, it is reported that, even though ND football on NBC has declined in the ratings, it still represents 3.5 hours of Saturday programming that NBC doesn't have to produce elsewhere, and even the declining ratings are better than anything else they could put on the air.

Erin Andrews, and others, may have opportunities that they never imagined before, and, trust me because I have first hand experience, Bristol is not the center of the universe from a lifestyle concept.

  • Good post Texaztom. She looks better in clothes. Never did anything for me other than a couple of ass shots in tight silk pants. Really, she's not in Suzy Kolber's nor Samantha Steele's class. I won't miss her either way.
Now if ESPN could just lose Miss Piggy and replace her with a Lisa Guerrero look alike.
(Google her to see what we've been missing)

  • Outside of sideline reporter I think she's limited. Not surprising espn let her go.

More like there are hundreds of other young, attractive women ESPN can put in tight business suits/skirts/blouses, smack some makeup on and toss out there to replace her. And 100% of them are cheaper. Most of these anchors/hosts/analysts are a dime a dozen imo.

This. She overestimated her value after doing the guest spots on GMA and it backfired. She doesn't have the chops to host anything (news or sports) and, like tricknole said, there are a plethora of attractive young women who won't cost anywhere near as much. She'll end up doing sideline stuff for FOX and then either reinvent herself or disappear.

Here's a deadspin article that sums it up...

I don't even think she was good there. She made millions from the tape of her "getting ready" to go out and sent that guy to jail when she should have paid him. Not that what he did was right, but she went from a no name to the top of the search lists overnight.

Depends how you're rating it. I doubt you've seen more attractive, better personality and more successful at Walmart.

Would a stripper at 3 a.m. with $1000 in $1 bills be considered successful. Keep in mind she's only doing it to put herself through medical school.

That's my favorite kind of successful!

  • yep, read an article about that the other day. ESPN / ABC tried to use her in other roles, but have been doing so less & less. Said they probably wouldn't try to re-sign.

The article contrasted her with Beadle saying that Beadle is working the Olympics and they would never trust Andrews to a similar task

EA is nice looking but is over-rated as anything other than an eyecandy sideline reporter.

Would agree. Her gameday stuff was hard to watch and other then sideline reporter she isn't very good. Beadle on the other hand has some talent.

I love Michelle Beadle. She's a funny gal. Plus, she's a Texas fan.
