Where is Charter offered in Austin? Anywhere? Uverse isn't available in my neighborhood in NW Austin. Sure wish Directv would sign up.

Just curious are they big in Texas? They have 4.6 million subscribers nationally and are about the same size as Verizon and Cox (#7 overall).

The top 4 providers (Comcast, DTV, Dish and TWC) have more customers than the next 20 combined. Now one of those would be big for sure.

Living out in the PNW there is still no provider available in my area although Charter does do some business in the area.

Switch. On second thought, don't. You need something to complain about.

Any one of the big 4 would put them in the next stratosphere.

Until our games on LHN are widely seen it hurts us more than helps us. But the significance of this should not be overlooked. They are amassing viewers, and that will increase momentum (that's two new carriers in the last 90 days along with nearly 9 million sets of eyeballs).

No football games should ever be on LHN but that is a conversation for another thread.

Good to see them getting more distribution and positive press.

Charter is the incumbent MSO in Fort Worth. They have no real major Texas metro presence east of that. They're also the incumbent in St. Louis. They are the incumbent in a swath of Los Angeles. Beyond that they have incumbent status in numerous smaller population centers throughout the US.

It is great news for the network and for FW customers. I'm hoping that the coverage ultimately spreads throughout their footprint because of the $$ and the exposure in decent MSAs like St. Louis and parts of SoCal.

Much like the Cox deal, without seeing the details or an analysis of them, it's hard to know if this is a huge deal for the network or a nice addition. Obviously there is some scale in the pricing being achieved and that is a good sign that some of the other big guys will eventually sign on. Comcast and Time Warner used to be sons a bitches when it comes to things like MFN status, so who knows if they are going to hold out for something slightly better than everyone else? DTV and Dish simply march to their own beat, so it's tough to predict whether any other signings will matter in whatever path they choose to pursue.

I think he's only using football for leverage. The LHN only picks up basketball games that aren't going to be aired on other channels. Same with baseball. Easy for me to say because I switched to uverse and get the network, but if it works, it'll be worth it.

Although I heard he is getting a small $500k bump after the first of the year already.

I have LHN now in Tulsa via ATT Uverse which has made some in roads for them against Cox to the point I hear rumor Cox is nearing a deal. I switched recently when they established service in my neighborhood.
