If the kid wants to be a doctor, a degree from Texas versus Stanford is not as highly looked upon but considering he'll be on the football team, places like UT Southwestern would take him in a heartbeat with that Texas degree in the midst of playing football. But more importantly, even the smartest kids can't handle pre-med and I'm not saying that he can't but playing on Texas's team is just about a guaranteed ticket to the NFL while TE's fare well at Stanford, there's still no guarantee that he'll win there and go onto the next level from there. I think he may like Stanford a lot but at the end of the day I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up in Austin after all is said and done.
So bobby, are you now something like 75% Stanford - 25% Texas? Man it would suck to lose a top recruit at such a need position who lives an hour from Austin. I guess we can't get them all, but we sure seem snake-bit at TE.
Some kids have dreams. If you get a chance to follow yours, I can't blame you for doing it.
Hayden Christensen - to merely call him wooden is an affront to puppets everywhere...
