Does A'shawn qualify for the Mack Brown curse?

  • I say yes. He better think about this because the curse is real and now on top of this foreboding destiny he is saddled by none other than Satan himself. Go figure. Someone needs to be a straight shooter with this kid and get him to fly right once again because the clock is nearing signing day. Besides, if our defense stinks for another year Mack will be canned and Satan will be fed that whopping $10 million dollar contract to turn our fate on the forty acres. There are all those championships we've been dreaming of.

Absolutely. And according to Olsen's article, A'Shawn is butthurt because he thinks Texas leaked his decommittment and ruined his moment. Boo freaking hoo.

Link? Robinson has every right to go to the school of his choice. But, he can't complain about TX reporting he wasn't going to be a longhorn. I wonder who is more upset, Robinson or the TX coaching staff? I guess he didn't wait long enough to pull the carpet out from under us...sheesh.

  • Bo Davis should show this big feminine entrance the real numbers. Mack may be an average coach but he does have some influential mojo from his extra carricular activities while enduring consecutive 1-10 seasons in New Orleans.

  • I guess some young men may need sOme tutoring as to what the word "commitment" means. The curse speaks for itself. All I'm saying is that odds are high for A'shawn to flop if continues down this road.

  • Kid was obviously looking for a reason to switch and his most recent comment screams of someone who feeds off attention and drama. Sometimes you find out through this process called recruiting just how lucky you are not signing a kid. Not saying he won't be good athletically on the field or that we couldn’t have used him, but his head certainly might be a bit bigger than his talent. I guess will find out. I can say this, once he faxes that letter of intent and shows up on campus, he's going to find out real quick with Saban that the number of stars next to your name don't mean a thing.

Should Wilson, Herron and Billings attend the same commitment tutoring session?

I bet you're just loving this, aren't you? Enjoy your opportunity to point out the irony? Don't be a jerk on this board, we've had plethora of bad news this weekend, we don't need you pouring salt into the wound.

What a baby. That coming from a guy who committed to Texas and kept saying he was up to the last weekend before signing? Guys can change their mind but have no right to also start weeping because his moment was stolen. Mack Brown curse has been cast.

Mike, I'm sorry if you thought I was "pouring salt into the wound" of anyone. I just find it ironic when Aggies, Horns or anybody criticize a recruit switching to another team, but celebrate a recruit switching to the home team's. No offense and no more from me on the subject.

We got Shiro Davis from LSU last year. Sure we celebrated the NSD switch, but I would certainly understand if some LSU fans harbored ill will towards Davis. Robinson used Texas as a safety school by "committing" early to secure a scholarship, then openly shopped himself to other schools. He has ever right to do that, just don't expect me to not resent him for the bush league tactic.

My concern this year is there is not enough of it to go around with all the decommits we have had

I'll play. I can only speak for myself, but I don't like it when anyone goes back on a "commitment" if the school he/she committed to didn't do anything to warrant the decommitment. So, if Wilson and Herron decommit from their respective schools just because they've decided to play somewhere else, then they should be reminded what the word means. Billings?? I didn't think he had committed to any school yet, has he?

    Sin Miedo,

My mistake in misinterpreting your initial message! My apologies. I usually enjoy when you post over here, as your arguments are rational and relevant. Please disregard my prior commentary.

That's cool. Was just pointing out that all schools take and lose kids who change their minds. We're happy when they change to our team and hate it when it goes the other way. Doesn't make any of them good kids or bad kids. Just makes them kids dealing with a difficult decision that is really a lot more important to them than us.

On Billings, sorry, think you're right. I must have been thinking of Hamad.

  • Let's just hope the curse is still as strong as ever. If so, both Nick Satan & A'Shawn are going to wish they never met each other.

  • The only Mack Brown curse has fallen squarely on us and the University of Texas since 1/1/10.
