Did Julius Randle make it to Austin?

  • Yes he did. He's in this photo wearing no hat.

  • You will get to see what all the other stud recruits look like in opposing jerseys because there is no way in hell that a top notch recruit would want to be a part of that GOD AWFUL TEAM that we trot out every game!!! I have said it once and I will say it again, there is NO nba talent in Austin at this point!!! None!!

  • Concerned Randle will not decide on the Horns due to the surrounding talent - any top recruits considering Texas must be concerned with the current product - extremely disappointing year so far

    TexasHorn

  • Let's see why I think Randle will come to Texas:

    -Grew up a Texas fan
-Play in front of friends and family
-Friends with most of the team
    -The Durant effect
-There ARE pieces around him to compete, but he'd be the MAIN one
    -Relationships with the coaches
    -Every other team loses ALOT
-KU will only return Traylor, Ellis, and Tharpe of those that played this year. Two of those play the same position as him. Andrew White and Rio Adams can't even get on the floor on a team that struggles at guard at times...
-NC State loses Leslie, Howell, Wood, most likely Brown, and maybe Purvis. Their best player returning could be TJ Warren who is a 3/4...
-Florida loses Boyton, Rosario, Murphy, and most likely Young.
-Kentucky loses Noel, Goodwin, Poythress, maybe Wiljter, Mayes. But their problem is having a ton of high, um, profile guys that will take away the spotlight.
-Oklahoma, even though I don't even consider them in it, lose Grooms, Pledger, Fitzgerald, and Osby.

-No other teams have the defensive presence behind him in Ridley and Ibeh. Kansas will only have Embiid as a center. NC State will bring in BJ Anya but he'll be freshman and alone. Florida will have Walker but he's not as much of a defensive presence. Kentucky will have Lee but he's also not as much of a defensive presence. Oklahoma - no.

  • Yes please!!!

Let's be real here.....this was never going to be a good team. It'd be lightyears better with Myk, but still a very average team. However, there are some nice pieces and if you surround them a talent like Randle and/or Frazier you have, on paper a top 10 team going into next season.

  • If Barnes, Wright and co. don't go anywhere Randle will be a Horn. JMO.

  • He'll be committing after his Kansas visit so this endless wait will soon be over. We'll know the fate of our program in less than a month...

Oh, I think most people thought it would be better than it has been, but no Myck, and a no-show from Ridley has turned it sour. They probably win four or five games they lost with MK -- but you're right, that wouldn't have made it a great team, as it has turned out.

  • @kbohls: Julius Randle said he's paying little attention to Texas' 10-13 season as a factor in his recruitment. "Nah, it's all good."

I do not have any idea if you are correct NYHorn, but I sure do like your reasoning. Here to forward, this post of yours will become my mantra regarding Randle coming to Texas. Now, please, make as compelling an argument for Frazier coming to Texas, and, oh yeah, throw Kabongo coming back to play with them in there too, please! Hey, I don't think I am asking too much! ;)

Does it help at all that KU is in a tail spin?

Watching KU is something wrong with the chemistry...............they have been living on the edge all year. They could very easily have 5 not 3 losses in Big 12 play........

Yeah, I agree with you. In our first game with them, I remember thinking that their offense at times reminded me of ours - just that they had a more experienced roster top to bottom.

I just noticed that they lost again today. Wow! Three in a row! I don't want to be too much of a sunshine pumper, but with Myck back, maybe we have a chance this next weekend!?
