He should never have been hired in the first place. His last name got him the job.
Now Tennessee can try to get someone good. Heck of a rebuilding job there for someone even though Sexton will get them a fleet of Brinks trucks full of cash.

I thought about that too. I think Tennessee goes for a bigger name this time around. I could see them going after Charlie Strong though.

I think you engage him until he says no. Period. Especially if you have went after him before. Shows a man you truly want him.

Gundy is not leaving OSU. It's not just about money with him, plus T Boone will counter enough to make the price too high.
Hugh Freeze is doing an outstanding job at Ole Miss. I don't know anything about his contract, but he would be on my list if I was Jimmy Sexton.

It's no accident that Ole Miss gave aggy a good game - they are the only other team who can simulate the speed of their offense in practice since they also run it (but with significantly less talent).

I 100% agree that the spread gives the SEC problems.
With A&M being spread, Ark likely to hire Patterson and he's a spread guy, Gundy possibly to Tennessee, and then Malzahn or another spread guy possibly to Auburn, the SEC is going to get a lot better on offense.

Why would Gundy or Patterson leave the Big 12 for lateral positions in the SEC?
Really the only job that is better than either OSU or TCU is Tennessee.
Auburn, Arkansas, and Kentucky are not jobs where you can win consistently. Tennessee is a mess, and it seems that you only get 2-3 years to turn it around before they fire you.

Their search should start with James Franklin and Charlie Strong. Vandy doesn't care if they lose football games. Buncha nerds.
(Vandy was my other option other than Texas so nobody get offended.)
