Gerry, on that point of maybe dropping in the Fab 55, how much effect does academics and personallity/non-football issues play a part in grading out players? Is it purely a football talen grade, or do leadership, academics, etc play a part in the evaluation?

Players have been hurt in the rankings in the past because of grades. Dez Bryant was one. Everyone knew he was the best receiver in the state but his grades were so bad he slid down the lists.

That was a mistake because he remained academically eligible his entire career.

At Oklahoma State. Texas, OU and A&M didn't decide to pass for no reason. OSU is a common destination for kids with bad grades. Their dealings with Lyles should be a pretty big hint that they're ok playing fast and loose with the rules.

Maybe not a mistake in the rankings, he just managed to get his s-- together before it was too late. It's a shame about David though, throwing away a future that most people can only dream of.

I'll let him have his day in court, but the kid never cam across as even slightly smart to begin with. And his brother had possibly the most interesting interview of the year. I wonder if the 3rd David is like these two.

If things that you have asked about are know as fact, then they are taken into consideration.
Academics, not as much for me, but that is just me. With the sliding scale and some kids even going out of state to finish their senior year, it's really hard to knock a kid way down for academics. Kid qualify every year that many say have no chance.

Sports by brooks just tweeted an article. I'm on my phone but per the report David admitted to police she told him no and he did it anyway. Girl has tested positive for sexual assault trauma at a hospital. Enjoy jail idiot

Heck, Dez made the second team All-Academic Big 12 team at Okie State. This was probably a mistake but he made it.
