On reflection after BB commented he thought it is a scheme issue, and I agreed, it is also a matter of matching personnel to Diaz's 'Jet's'...'46' defense.

I think these three understand it doesn't make a difference whom starts. Just my opinion but the UT offense by the end of the yr will look a lot even better. I'm a optimist but this defense is in a adjustment period with new personnel and will get better, how much is the difference. Injuries happen, win with what you have.

This poor kid has a gravely ill mother who is about to undergo major surgery while also having been out for a couple months with a groin issue. His mental side has to be wrecked right now. Not sure he'll be useful to us at all this season.

Actually kicking is about plant foot placement. Running up to the ball, stopping on a dime with the plant foot to transfer momentum to a swinging leg can put a bit of stress on your groin.
If he doesn't feel comfortable at any point there, his power and accuracy is compromised. In many ways, its like a golf swing.

Mykkele has great speed that's good to have but what's the point if you don't have play recognition or defensive awareness. Granted I don't know what he has but I have to think that's one of the two things that kept him out of starting.

I know right? It's so clear which of the three has dominated and deserves to be the clear cut starter. Telling all three "the job is up for grabs, now go out there and take it" is so wimpy. Like totally dude.

I have wondered why they do not use Evans more with his speed. He at least may be able to track some of these people down when we turn them lose. Would like to see more of Brown in the DL. He is potentially our best DT.
Do not think anyone would ever confuse Mack for a tough coach but he does appear to be trying to push more just watching practice on LHN. Not sure with todays youth that the hard ass approch works as well as it used to. Back in the Royal era, the players were scared of the coaches. Today kids just go home to Moma .
