Football has evolved and theres no denying it. However, college football and professional football have evolved separately, leaving the NFL lacking at a key position, according to Rams coach Jeff Fisher.

Today's NFL is a QB driven league so I think speedy LBs are more valuable than a plodding MLB. Today, you need a franchise QB to get to the Superbowl. If you're stuck with a Matt Schaub, your only other shot is have a defense that can shut down the Tom Bradys. So if you have linebackers that can run with WRs, you can make any QBs life miserable.
Irony of his comments are that the NFL is passing more than ever and eliminating the need for big run-stopping MLBs. It was not CFb, but the NFL rules committee that changed the game. Wrs get touched less. QBs get hit less. It has all made passing the preferred vehicle of offense. His commens make me wonder if he has become out-dated, not MLBs.
