Why did it change from resigning today to waiting until Wednesday to talk some more? Or are they playing games with semantics?

Sorry, I have been off the board for several hours. I didn't mean to be chippy, or to single you out. It would just be nice if our fans could show a little more class. They don't just want GD's head, they want to drag the body through town behind a team of horses. A little more civility, in all walks of life, would be appreciated.

We sometimes show more appreciation for coaches who spent a few years here passing through, often for one or two accomplishments, than we do for someone who helped to put Texas football back on its feet. In GD's case, it looks like his productive run fizzled out in 2010, and that there are no second chances. So be it. I prefer to thank GD for all he has done, and look forward to the next chapter, without trying to dinegrate the man publicly.

GD did a fantastic job collectively speaking but change was clearly needed. Lots of skins on the wall to look back to. This staff desperately needs to get younger and have new, fresh blood. Mack once again demonstrates his management instincts and I think there will be some very surprised and pleased fans when the next set of announcements are made.

Anyone considering that hire should listen to his post UCLA interview. The one where he describes wanting to work UCLA side to side.

What terrifies me about the whole ordeal is: What if Davis' replacement isn't any better than he was, or is even worse?

5 years too late, but as somebody said; "better late than never".

I feel vindicated.

Saw on a separate thread that Davis has indeed resigned. Bless him for his great years with our school.
