Best thing to do is freak out and assume the worst. That way if it is really bad then no big deal you have already assumed the worst. If it is not bad then you get great news and it makes your day.

Never realized how important I think Ash is this year. Don't think we can afford to lose him. He's the only true QB option we have. Case can't stretch the field and the young ones aren't ready yet. We lose Ash and we are going to lose games we should have won.

Just saying that if it comes out that it is a minor injury to Ash you are going to be a happy man. I predicted with Ash Texas will win 10 games. If we ride McCoy I predict 8-9 wins this year.

8 tops IMO. Case is a good backup but he's not the one that will lead us where I think we can go with decent QB play. He's too limited.

Not a joking matter. This is huge.

We just went from a championship team to an also-ran. I don't believe Case is a championship QB.

Hammys take a long time to heal. I'll be surprised if he is 100% at any point this season.

We had a chance to show a real contrast between us and A&M this season. That's gone.

I am sick of all the crap I listen to about the last 2 years. I thought this was going to change all that. I'm just gonna have to tune it out for another year.

This also affects next season.. Instead of having a veteran QB, we will still be dealing with inexperience.

    This is huge.

Simmer down man has anything even been said yet? Jesus.... Let's see what up with him before we start throwing the season away! No offense you kinda sound like an Aggie...just sayin....

    The SEC of signatures....

  • Wasn't it me who warned people about not assuming who the starter would be? We have no idea what tomorrow will bring. Ash may just miss two-a-days and be fine for Sep. 1st. We just don't know. I am almost amused by the histrionics on this thread.

Yikes. I popped my hamstring my senior year and only took 3 weeks to recover. I'm sure its along those lines. I don't think the gap between McCoy and Ash is as drastic as you make it out to be.

Typical sooner bullshit. The difference is between kicking your ass and having you stack the box making a long day for the horns. Run along. Anyone that can't see what just happened just doesn't get it.

  • lol good grief man, get a grip. The kid strained a hammy. He didn't blow out a knee. It sucks for him, but I feel moderately confident that the production of 125th rated QB in the country can be accounted for in some fasion, until he's ready to roll.

Jesus was reporting that he was throwing to spots and throwing his receivers open. Chemistry was clicking. I was thinking we really had something. He doesn't need time off. He needs to be getting rep after rep.

I think when I see my first back foot throw from Case, I'm gonna puke. The 1st ridiculous rainbow pass that gets picked off when the receiver was open by 7 yards will likely give me chest pains.

In 2005 we didn't count on Nordgren to win any games for us and that team was pretty talented. Ash isn't VY but Nordgren was better than Case.

  • The diffrence between McCoy and Ash, is Ash can throw the ball about 20 yards down the field further, and not rainbow the shit outta the ball. Although I am not worried about this minor tweek, make no mistake if we were to lose Ash and have to rely on McCoy we woul be in trouble since McCoy cannot stretch the field like we need to.

Texas quarterback David Ash strained a hamstring in an unofficial workout Friday, but school sources told the American-Statesman the injury was not considered severe.
