"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
On number 2 how much of that problem, if any of it, do you think is the result of never really being in a position to have to adjust while at Boise. They pretty much ran anything they wanted and scored at will against inferior competition. Adjustments wouldn't be necessary because they were always ahead, usually be a lot and never had to face top shelf defenses or lines.
It seems to me that the offense is trying to impose their will on the defense instead of taking advantage of what the defense is giving them.
The defense instead of trying to impose their will on the offense takes on the underdog mentality with all the stunts, twists, mugging and slants.
This has been going on all season so I don't think that either side has figured it out. It is what it is with the play calling on both sides of the ball.
We actually ran the ball very well during the first two possessions; then Patterson started over-loading the offensive right side and took away the off tackle run that Gray excels at. Harsin didn't adjust. I have to think the jet sweep to the offensive left had to be available when Patterson was committing six or seven to our offensive right.
I completely agree with Expatria and Mighty Texas. If Ash leads Davis on the first int. and makes the proper read to a wide open Goodwin on the second, we go into half time up 17-7. I didn't see a complete team meltdown; I saw a sophomore QB have a very bad game, reminiscent of Simms in the Colorado Big XII game. And I didn't see anything that makes me think that he was seriously injured in the first half.
