I vote Brewer. He's getting bigger, nice arm, and in HS you could tell he could read the D. I know Overstreet is an all American on the boards, but at some point you gotta throw. Also as far as reports go, Swoopes has played equal or outdone Overstreet too. As much as many of you hate to hear that.
I am sorry. In my original post I forgot to add you can't say Case. Of all four backups I want case. Sorry to make it confusing..

Brenhams next star Darrion Johnson Class of 2014
Brewer, Until Overstreet is with his accuracy In the passing game.
Whoever the coaches see fit. I can't see them in practice every day, so I have no idea who's better.
Sorry. Never been much of an idealist.

Anyone but Case McCoy works for me.
I'm with you there bud.
I think Brewer because I think he has a better arm. I think it is easier to teach decision making than arm strength.
Brewer. If he is as accurate as I hear, then that's my pick. I know a mobile qb is ideal here but you cant under value accuracy. hell we squeezed a couple hundred yards out of GG on the ground so who is to say he cant have that 3rd or 4th option. Of course i havent seen them in practice so i have nothing to stand by this. I just hope everyone is getting a fair shot, if that is the case then it should work itself out.
Whoever the coaches feels will be starting after Ash or can replace Ash. Case has game experience but he's tapped out on ability. Hopefully the #3 gets plenty of snaps in the first thee games so he'll be #2 by mid season.
IMO, depends on the injury situation...if Ash is knocked out of a game, I'll take Overstreet for the change-up on offense that many def may not be able to adjust
An Overstreet-Daje-Gray backfield for 1/2 game could create match-up nightmares & be enough for Texas to get through the game
If Ash is gonna be out for multiple games, Brewer would be the choice because of the accuracy issues
Case is such the obvious choice it's not even funny.
Notwithstanding everybody's creative input, which is led more by Case hate than knowledge of the alternatives.
I have to agree. Anything else is just speculative. Not a Case fan from a D1 QB perspective but with absolutely nothing to judge the others on how can you say they are better.
Now prepare Uranus
maybe coming out of the first half of spring practice. However if going into fall practice and no one else has stepped up then it tells me more about our other qbs than it does Case. It's not Case hate either. I wish he wasnt put in this situation, but it is what it is. We know what we have with him.
Brewer. He's putting in the work and could manage a game better because of his accuracy.
Would agree with you on Brewer if he were really challenging McCoy. He dosen't seem to be doing that yet, as for as we can see. Let's hope he does because it would show that we finally have a QB in the wings.
As an outsider looking in, I would start Brewer, not 2nd string him.
The horns offense I have seen the last couple of years is severely lacking a difference maker at QB.
You know what you have with Ash, he is manageable but he is not going to go out win a title for texas IMO.
Plays tough and does what he can but he doesnt look like the type to lead an offense that really needs to score a lot to support the defense.
With major installing a new offense (i think?) I give him a serious shot to shake things up.
But don't we have to start someone? even the single wing had a QB. As a matter of fact I was one, but they made me pitch it to the fullback when we were going to pass.

Brewer. Wish we'd hear more about him or the coaches would give him more reps in practice. Looking forward to the spring game.
I would still go with Case. If Ash goes out he gives us the best chance to win if a game is on the line. I wouldn't mind rotating in Brewer or Overstreet in a blowout just to give them some experience though.
Well, in the sense that the University of Texas may not have a better option than Case f*cking McCoy is a little funny.......in self deprecating sort of way.
and just think, Ash is just a little ahead of him
