Geezus Vince. No wonder youre out of work. I hope he sells a lot of steak.
Why won't Vince Young be an Eagle next year? Well, Vince says it's because Andy Reid thinks he just too good to be a backup.
What did he say that you think is bad?
9 and 4 at Texas sucks!
- Jeff Howe
I don't get the joke? Hes not a backup his record proves that, he needs a chance with a team that will give him a fair shake.
That Andy Reid said he's too good to be a backup there.
The only think wrong here is your feeble attempt at ripping a legend.
Coaches aren't in the business of letting good players go. Especially at the QB position. Especially probably players to be had on the cheap. Qbs who have the same skill set as your fragile qb. Reid was being nice to VY. He'd rather go to battle with Mike Kafka and Trent Edwards.
He said he would love to have him back then implied that he should be a starter somewhere instead of a backup. Which is truth one of these teams that are thinking of taking Ryan "mediocre super bust Qb" Tannyhill at 3 should look his way.
Not sure about feeble. Take of your burnt orange glasses
That's the point. Reid is as good a qb coach as there is and he doesn't want him. There are people out there looking to move up for Ryan freakin Tannehill when VY can be had for 35cents on the dollar. There's a reason he isn't getting any interest
What ever dude.... VY got injured then got F**cked over by "the douche with the stache".. He just needs a fair shake as far as football goes. Now I do realize he is a bone head but thats not the point he a good QB
Sometimes this board can be too myopic when it comes to Texas athletes in the pros.
Give me a break.
Come on man. QB is the most important position I'm football. And Vince is out there begging for an opportunity and no one is biting. Men who have their jobs on throne would rather go with Matt Flyynn or Tebow or Christian Ponder or Alex Smith or Rex Grossman for god sake. If they thought Vince was a better option they would hire him.
I would like to see him get a chance with a decent team with a coach that has no vendetta against him like Fisher did. Last year when he was in, Macklin was hurt and Jackson decided to do his Lamar Odom routine. Did not have much of a chance. I do not think he is a hall of fame QB in the pros but I think he can win in the right situation. He has proven that.
He does need to get in top condition and Play like Vince.
Do us all a favor and you take a break.
You absolutely can't say anything negative (despite being true) about VY on this board. Well not if you care about your star rating. Mine took a beating over this very topic a few weeks back.
Thanks. I find it amusing.
Me too, though for markedly different reasons than you do.
And you know this to be a lie how?
Come on. He's still unsigned two months into FA. He's gotten so little interest from other teams. It's a line if I ever heard one.
Dude, we get it. Most of us know that Vince is in trouble of losing even his backup status in the nfl. Clearly, Reid lied to him as a nice way to let him go. Still, you're being an ass. Why put Vince down like this? You could post something like, 'too bad Vince was misled. Damn shame to see how far his star has fallen'
Instead, you put him down. Way to show support there. I'm not asking for blind loyalty but if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it.
This post is too well reasoned and fair. I choose to ignore it.. :)
I don't give a sheet what Andy Reid said. Vince is a legend in my mind. I'll never forget 4th and 5 and him bringing a national title to UT. Interesting how coachc seems to get a thrill out of trying to put down Vince.
Wait, I can answer this.
