Cuney moves into the top 247. Jerrod Heard keeps dropping, i think 247Sports has something against him haha.
A big jump for a cornerback, a bump for Malachi Dupre and a number of additions highlight the most recent update of the Class of 2014 Top247.
Two explanations on Heard. Either they didn't see the state championship game or its the same people who thought Manziel was a 3* recruit.
How is Jamal Adams in the exact same spot after dominating in Dallas? Also lmao at Ed Paris being 70 spots better.
Exactly. Or 3 star Colt. We have a 94 pt QB running 4th string behind an athlete.
It's guys like Heard and Davis that make me call these ratings into question. I just don't think they're defensable imo.
I wouldn't go that far, but I also don't know how anyone could watch both Heard and Brewer's respective tapes and give Connor a higher grade. I will never claim to be a recruiting expert, though.

Its absurd to have Heard this low. Kid is 6'3 runs a 4.5/4.6 and is a complete gamer i really dont get it...
247 dropping Heard like they dropped Swoopes. Hopefully they reclassify him as an athlete to guarantee he kicks ass next Spring as a QB like Tyrone. Keep Karma going 247....
Small, slow and a noodle arm is all the rage these days.
247 staff when reviewing Texas commits:
Gerry goes AWOL on us and then drops the rankings of Texas recruits. That's messed up.
We invited Heard to the Army game. I think you guys are overthinking these rankings at this point in the recruiting season.
10 years ago, for instance, we didn't even list our first junior top 100 until May 1.
In other words, it's not where you start, it's where you finish.

We, 247Sports had Manziel as a 91 and four star prospect.
So that would be 1,000,000% wrong.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
Well, you know he's only rated a 7 in intangibles.
If he want's to improve his ranking he's really going to have to hit the weight room and practice field to bring that number up.
Not a top 247 prospect and you, 247 Sports, ranked 15-20 QBs ahead of him. So you were 1,000,000% wrong on that one.
Everyone had him low as a college player including nearly every college football coach in America, it happens. Will never be an exact science, even at the highest level. No one is arguing that, or ever will.
I never said we had him ranked correctly. Saying we had him as a 3-star prospect is 1,000,000% wrong.
Thanks for the input, as always. Fun conversation.

Gerry's argument is that he clearly ranked Manziel higher than anyone else and that he was a 4 star by 247Sports unlike any other service.
Hell, Gerry ranked Manziel higher than every coach in the Big 12 including Manziel's own current head coach.
