This is true. He does throw well in practice, but we have yet to see him do it in a game. If he wins the job, we will finally get to see him run the whole offense. He has some serious competition though. Everyone keeps bringing up Bell and he may not even win the job.
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
4-page thread about 2 QB's, neither of which will start for Texas or OU (barring injury), both run first QB's, & both having thrown fewer passes than Jaxon Shipley

How about you should stop yourself. Bunch of ass kissing. If you have the gut to call out someone you should have the gut to take it
No ass kissing. You're a rude prick that wants an Internet fight. Big tough dude. Burton has an opinion. So do I. Grow up, douchebag. If you want to debate, fine. Otherwise take this candy ass shit somewhere else.
You guys are completely missing the point. Yes, to say Swoopes is going to be a star based off of 6 plays in a scrimmage is pretty nonsensical, but no more so than calling a kid a flop, or emphatically state that he'll never make an impact as a QB, before the kid even steps on campus, which is the prevailing opinion around, one in which was spear headed the wise ones we pay $10 a month to.
We're all entitled to opinions, but when your opinion is so ridicuously sided towards one extreme or the other, you're going to get called out for it for even the slightest bit proof that you were wrong. The fact is that Swoopes looked better than anyone on site couldve predicted. Does that mean he's going to win the next 6 heismans? Absolutely not. Heck, it doesn't even mean that he'll be a successful QB. All it means is that as of this moment in time, that the anti Swoopes is off to a very good start, and as of now looks the part of a D1 QB. Something no one on this site would've predicted 3 months ago.
He did well, I just wish he would have thrown the ball more.
That's exactly the point I have been trying to make. I guess I didn't do a very good job.
The pro-Swoopes guys are out in droves calling everyone out after a half dozen plays just as the anti-swoopes guys were out in droves last Fall when his HS team was winning a game. I don't think the performance showed us any more than we already knew except 1 thing. He seemed pretty poised and under control given the situation he was in which is a big deal. Other than that he showed us what has always been said about him. He's big, strong, athletic, can run and has a good short pass. but there's a long way to go before he's starting under center.
Don't be afraid to ride the lightning.
He didn't break them, he eluded them.
So our defense is worse?
