First- any news about the BOR meeting yesterday?
Second- Down votes. It appears that some use them to show disapproval of the message. Lots of them directed at Bobby over reporting the d-commetment of Robinson. I started to link an article in the AAS by Kirk which contained some information that I did not like. Then I said to myself- how many down votes will I get for doing so? I think down votes are appropriate for some things. Trashing UT players, being a troll bashing the University, just being a jerk about something for example- but my question is should they be for bringing negative information? Just a question and I know most will say "i dont worry about it"
Note Dave answered the first question on a separate thread shortly after I posted the question. Thanks Dave.

The whole up/down vote is stupid because it is up to user discretion. Seems there should also be as up votes as down votes. In reality, it seems that anything controversial is going to polarize participants on the board. If the mods are upset or worried about losing their fifth star, they shouldn't as most five stars are busts any way. Just ask Mack Brown.
Downvotes are for people who pee sitting down.
The BoR says they are going to review the possibility of strengthening the rules. Outside of that, I think there is a small possibility of a witch hunt going on.

Oh good, they need to do something about Nick Saban.
i believe they got their panties in a wad because they were not told in 2009 or subsequently and therefore had to find out in effect from a plaintiffs lawyer. The Sunday special meeting was basically the result of a childish tantrum. The outcome confirms it could and should have been handled thru normal channels. this episode also shows why bor should not be political appointees or at least not by one man.
We have had the discussion before Earl. I don't think the voting thing is that important.
I can't remember a single time I read a post, or didn't read a post, because of how many stars the poster has.
imo it is what hasn't been said yet that is important.
Can the BoR figure out this upvote/downvote dilemna?
And upwind! The only good thing, to me, about the up or down votes is to quickly identify good and bad news. To me...it's the message that counts...not the messenger.
Thanks to all who answered. I will venture my opinion as to the BOR, which differs from Bobby's. I believe there is pressure to get Powers and this is just one venture to find an excuse. I believe that there is pressure to force Dodds out and this is an attempt to discredit him. I see nothing good coming of this.

JFrank...............I thought the down-votes were odd for a mod reporting on a recruit also. There is no doubt the idiot Governor and his group want to get Powers but I think Dodds is in a very powerful position. He will be employed for 2 more years.................BTW I evened you up and up-voted your 2 posts.
