This is a small sample but I was at a HS when Mack visited and also at another HS when Sumlin came into visit on another date. There is a difference and Sumlin is king right now.
Who cares? We don't play them.
Absolutely love it.
Give. Me. More.
Yeah. We don't play them. So, they don't exist!
So if we are to go ape shit over aggy flash in the pan , perhaps we should worry more about TCU.
No clue who the writer is but he went to print with a pretty bad typo:
"It is what it is," he says. "My kid is 11 years old and he's on Instagram. You have to mange (should be manage not the dog skin infection) it
My opinion is that people who are on their 7 day trial (ie haven't had their credit card charged) and people who are not VIP to this site should not be able to start a thread. This is clearly an Aggy troll trying to illicit reaction. Bruthaman and Without Intercourse and others who pay their money can start a thread but not idiots like this OP. just MHO.
Been a paying patron for over two years. Never posted before and am no aggie. Saw this article and it kinda sums up what too many young people are thinking about aggie land now. They are a cult no doubt and just hope UT can turn it around. Don't want to live through multiple years of aggie greatness with us floundering.
CultureMap is the same publication that produced this gem re: JJ Watt. It's a great read.
Edit: I just saw it's the same author too.

So is this little brother coming to big brother's board to get acceptance again... when will it end?? Ggeeessshhhhh...
Welcome, RWF. Post more often. I was a member, too, for a number of months before I started posting. Nothing seems to have changed, nobody pays me any attention now either.
Don't worry about them aggies. Look at the overall records. The cream always rises to the top. And them aggies have a peculiar idea about what that cream actually is.
Trying for a damn aggie emoticon there. Apparently, we don't have one. If someone would tell me how, I would make one. I can make one, but I do not know how to be able to get it on the web site and what the parameters are, such as size and number of frames. Of course, we know, since it is an aggie thingie, it cannot be very big. And since frames has to do with how it repeats itself, there cannot be very many of those either.

+1, Ahhh! There ya go RWF. It is after midnight after all. By the way, don't use the word "patron". It makes you seem just a tad highfalutin'.
Still doesn't work.
Inb4 the lock
This is just wrong. Wrong, wrong wrong!
Only one King.
275-0 scoring margin
Dana X Bible's National Championship team
Sumlin definitely is flavor of the month, ain't no question about that. Let's see if he can keep up, or actually build his little kingdom.
Disciplina praesidium civitatis
Will you ever love me??
Perhaps you are underrating A&M's recent success as a "flash in the pan."
There's little to no doubt in my mind that that will happen. Afterall, he's got a freshman Heisman winner as a QB and all the hype in the world right now.
So? We were all 1000% on board with Manny Diaz last year, and within 12 months, he went from being white hot to the biggest idiot in football.
Sumlin was in a good situation with Chase Keenum, then he inherited a heck of a good team from Sherman. You're absolutely right that he has hype on his side, but if hype was worth anything, Mack would have several more crystal balls to show for.
Right now, Sumlin can do no wrong, but reality is that nobody knows if he can keep it going.
If anything, this post right here should tell everyone it won't happen.
So you are just going to dismiss the 2012 season for them as some sort of hype-anomaly? Really?
Kid wins a Heisman, and you call it hype.
Bellmont's very own Black Hole, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Give him a round of applause!
Okay, I'll play along. So Sumlin is King. Where is his crown?
National Championship? Nope
SEC Championship? Nope
If Sumlin is King it's because the standards are much lower in College Station. If a three way tie for 4th in the conference makes him king, then let him be king.
Sense......try to make some in this thread. Or at least try to fool us with something intelligent.
that's not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying Sumlin may be a good all around coach, but fact is that he inherited a GREAT offensive line, which played a huge part in Manziel's success. And when the team got a taste of success, they gained confidence, and played better than they ever have. None of this is hype. They caught lightening in a bottle, and they kicked ass on the field.
"Hype" applies to the momentum they're seeing in recruiting. Fundamentally, I believe recruiting is 80% hype. We've had more hype than just about any other school. Through most of the 00s, this hype was justified, but then the hype carried over to the point where we can have multiple shitty classes, and by the sheer power of the Texas brand, we still got our customary rankings. That's hype. After all, the better the recruiting news, the more people follow recruiting, and there you have it. A&M right now, is enjoying this hype.
For us to crown Sumlin the "King", he would need to build on the success of this season and keep it going for several years. Then, and only then, can we declare him king status. To assume that he will continue at this pace, without any tangible evidence or history to support this, is hype.
