Unbelivable catch......Texas was one play away for another NC game. I believe Orakpo was not on the field for this last play......
I boldly predict this thread is not going to end well, and I will make no (more) contribution to its inevitable downturn.
Hope you like downvotes.
The Mack critics should also remember that if Colt does not get hurt in the 2009 BCS , Texas would have 2 NC in a 4 year span.
I was at this game. Worst experience ever. They are worse winners than they are losers.
A lot of people blame Gideon for losing the game, but it was definitely a team effort. Texas played poorly at times throughout that game and the play calling at certain points was either down right strange or way too predictable.

Anyone can play that game Mighty. You think Texas beats OU in 09 if they had Bradford and Gresham? I don't. We barely beat them with a new qb in Landry.
Man, that Crabtree was a pretty good Wing-T quarterback in high school.

There were many moments that could have won the game for UT, but Blake dropping that interception was by far the easiest path.
Yep and the one that will always be remembered the most.
Thanks Roe. I really needed to see that today.
We played like garbage in the first half of that game, it was amazing that we worked our way back into it at all. Not only did Gideon make a mistake, but Shipley also dropped a wide open TD pass. We also should have ran the clock down more on our last drive. As thrilled as I was when we scored, I had a bad feeling when we gave them the ball back with 2 minutes on the clock. I believe Orakpo also got hurt early in the game which hurt our pass rush. I game I would like to forget, but tech did play out of their minds that night.
Dude. Sometimes it's best to stop while you're behind.

I think Texas wins if any one of the following occur:
If Shipley doesn't drop a TD pass behind the Tech defense;
If Colt manages the clock properly on our last drive (he had same problem on last drive in 09 Conf. Champ. Game);
If Gideon holds on to an INT on Tech's last drive;
If Curtis Brown and Earl Thomas tackle Crabtree in-bounds on that last play;
If Quan Cosby had been able to play. (We wouldn't have beaten OU that year without his sensational game)
I contend that if Vince came back for his senior year, you could add another natty in there.
Even with a win over Tech, UT still would have had to beat Mizzou to reach the finale. Horns would have been a heavy favorite, but nonetheless, the game would have had to be played in order to reach the BCS title game.
I think UT would have beaten 'Bama if Daniel McCoy stays healthy. But also believe if Bradford didn't re-injure his shoulder in the game in Dallas against UT, OU wins that game (winning at the time he went down) and UT never reaches the title game.
The same Missouri team that we jumped out to a 35-0 lead against 2 weeks prior to Tech? I feel okay about that one.
Yes, same team. Daniel McCoy could have got a "stinger". You never know.
Remember the 2001 season in which Texas beat Colorado 41-7 in DKR before losing 39-37 in the Big 12 Championship game?
Nope. That one has been erased from my memory. It never happened as far as I am concerned.
When I was a kid, my dog died. Do you have any links to that video?
Pretty hard to just automatically chuck that into the shoulda won category based on the start to one good drive.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
There was a lot of football to be played. But UT looked good on that drive. Still, if Horn fans think they would have won that game, then you must think you would have lost the OU game if Bradford doesn't go down. For the life of me I don't know why Daniel McCoy was running down the line with the ball in the 'Bama game.
Have to agree.
