Dillon Peters starts off strong for Texas with two strikeouts in the first inning. Look for this to be your typical midweek game in which Texas uses a bunch of pitchers. Peters hasn't gone longer than 3 innings in any of his six starts this season.
Erich Weiss gets a two-out double to deep center, but Jonathan Walsh follows it up with a harmless fly to left. 0-0 heading into the second.
Payton led off with a fly to right and Stell struck out looking to start the inning.
Another quick inning for Peters. Two ground outs and a pop fly to shallow left that almost had Etier colliding with Walsh. Etier made the grab to help put the Bears down in order in the second.
Already an arm getting warm in the Texas bullpen.
Peters looks great
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
Longhorns go quietly in the 2nd with three fly outs (Silver, Felts, Marlow).
Peters coming back out for the third. I'd be surprised if this isn't his last inning tonight.
Peters allows his first hit of the day, but Central Arkansas can't do anything with it.
It was a bloop single by Garrett Brown followed by a sac bunt by Kraig Kelley. A grounder to first and a fly to left ended the inning.
Texas was threatening with runners on 1st and 2nd and just one out, but Taylor Stell grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. Headed to the top of the 4th we're still at 0s.
Well, I'm surprised. Peters back on the mound throwing warmup pitches prior to the 4th. If he gets one out this will be his longest outing of the season.
Peters gets a K to start the inning so this is his longest outing (starting or relieving) this season. He then promptly gives up a base hit up the middle.
Peters gets two outs in the third before being pulled for Austin Dicharry.
Peters' line: 3.2 IP, R, 3K, 2H, 0BB

Central Arkansas gets on the board first, scoring on a throwing error by Etier. The Bears had runners on first and second with two outs when Blake Roberts hit a grounder that Etier picked up in deep short. His throw may have been late anyway but he missed Alex Silver and the runner from second, who had made it to third by the time of the throw, easily scored.
Longhorns get the run back with three straight two-out singles in the bottom of the 4th. Alex Silver led it off with a shot up the middle, followed by Jacob Felts' singe to left and Brooks Marlow's shot to right that scored Silver.
Etier ended things with a hard hit ball to right that went straight to the fielder.
Pitching change for Central Arkansas as we start the 5th. Zach Barr is now in. He's 0-0 with 7.36 ERA with just 3.2 IP in 5 appearances.
Kirby Bellow coming in to pitch now for Texas.
Dicharry's line: 1.1 IP, 2K, 2H
How is Dicharry looking..............
He looked OK...allowed those two hits in in just over an inning, but also got the two Ks. Good, not great.
Bellow's day coming to a quick close. John Curtiss now in for Texas.

Central Arkansas gets the run back with an RBI single by Michael Marietta that scored Bryan Wilson from second.
Texas got a little lucky. The Bears had the bases loaded with one out and Felts tried to catch the runner at third taking too big of a lead. His throw down the line wound up in left field, but the home plate umpire called batter interference, so the batter was out and the runners had to go back to their bases. Curtiss got the next batter to strike out swinging.
Horns go down easily with three quick at-bats. All three were ground outs in the infield (Silver, Felts, Marlow)
Meeting on the mound for Texas. 2 outs in the top of the 7th with runners on 1st and 2nd and Central Ark's clean up hitter in the box.
Curtiss gets Ethan Harris swinging on a full-count pitch to end the threat. Heading to the bottom of the 7th we're knotted up at 2.
Horns retake lead with Payton triple then a single by stells to bring him in... 3-2 horns
What he said.
Stell taken out for a pinch runner. Christian Summers now on first.
Also, Central Ark makes a pitching change. Ethan McKenzie (0-1, 4.35 ERA, 20.2 IP) is now on the mound for the Bears.
Corey Knebel coming in to start the 8th after Erich Weiss' dribbler back to the pitcher ended the 7th for Texas.
Knebel gets two Ks and a grounder for an easy 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 8th.
Longhorns up 3-2 heading to the bottom of the 8th.
Pitching change for Central Arkansas after two hits to start the bottom of the 8th.
Andy Steinmetz coming in after Jonathan Walsh doubled and Alex Silver singled to start the inning. Runners on the corners with no outs and a 3-2 Texas lead.
Horns take 4-2 lead on Jacob Felts' sacrifice fly to center.
Another pitching change for Central Ark....Jeffery Enloe (3-5, 4.63 ERA, 56.1 IP) now pitching
