and with the likelihood that Robinson decommits, they will be without a defensive tackle.
Texas has 2 TEs currently committed.
Did Swoopes decommit?
Did Swoopes also drop his committment?
We do not have a RB or DE though... I agree.
Where will Hughes end up though? What about Raulerson?
We need those OL/DL to step up... that's what this class should be all about.
Yea, well we...uhh..........hmmmm..............yea I got nothin.
no. Doesn't change the fact that Texas doesn't have a QB committed.
Most recruiting sites disagree with you. It's OK to say he's a QB. That doesn't mean you're endorsing Mack.
Raulerson is listed as C...but Raulerson confirmed last week the coaches plan to use him @ DE to start
Doesn't change the obvious needs still missing from this class
Chips, im confused.
Shouldnt your post simply state: "ALL IS WELL!"?
Oooh oooh oooh I got it. We've got........wait for it........
THE LHN. Suck it beaches.
Some of us aren't so fundamentally lost as to be incapable of being able to watch a player with our own eyes and realize, "hey, this is what this guy actually looks like he's going to be". Then, magically coupling that with data and other reports of the player's performance, folks can actually look at a guy and realize, "gee, no, he won't play at position X in college".
Viewing Swoopes as something other than a QB does not have anything to do with Mack Brown. It's clearly a narrative that makes you feel better as you've been spouting the "you guys blame every bad thing on poor Mack Brown" all over this board, but it's a false narrative nonetheless.
I've said multiple times that Mack needs to go, and he does need to, badly.
In another thread, Bobby posted today, "and the lone quarterback, Tyrone Swoopes, was recruited more by Mack Brown than Harsin." I guess he's just one of those guys that can't look at a player and realize what he's actually going to be.
Damn, that backpedal was Deion-esque.
I actually really like Hughes and I will bet on people comparing him to Diggs in 3 yrs. Another kid that basically recruited himself. I do agree that he will end up at DE. Reminds me of the the of the type of kids LSU goes after to play DL. Maybe that is why LSU and SoCar recruited him.
However, as it stands JC Shurburtt reporting via twitter currently Texas has best OL for 2013. Now yes, Robinson would be a huge loss, but if we pick up the other remaining targets (Billings, Harrison) that some feel we have a good shot at, then at least we are building in the trenches like great teams do.

Could Mack have found his next G. Gilbert?
I doubt it. Swoopes is talented enough that if he doesn't pan out at QB, if can get on the field at a different position.
and you know this how? Just because he is 6'4-6'5 and relatively fast doesn't mean he can play receiver or tight end.
That's not the point.
The point is its making quite the reach to say that Texas doesn't have a QB committed to fit the narrative of the OP.
Whether or not the QB commit will pan out doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Swoopes is a QB commit. Whaley was an RB commit.
