I asked Augie after last night's game if Weiss is going to continue showing up at 3B as he's been there a lot lately. He said it has more to do with how well Marlow is playing at 2B. I think as long as Marlow continues to play well there this will be the consistent starting defensive alignment for the Horns.
For any baseball newbies:
C - Felts
1B - McElroy
2B - Marlow
SS - Hinojosa
3B - Weiss
LF - Stell
CF - Hall
RF - Payton
Up at the press box early for today's game. We've got light rain/mist at The Disch. Wind looks like it won't be a factor.

What is the crowd like today
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
We're underway. Peters gets a fly out to left on the first pitch of the day.
After a clean sheet yesterday Texas commits in error in the top of the first.
Weiss misses McElroy at first for a two-bag error. Would have been the third out.
Two out, man on 2nd.
Great start for Peters.
Don't be afraid to ride the lightning.
Two strikeouts for Peters and a fly to left make up the outs. The Weiss error doesn't come back to bite the Horns.
Bottom 1st: 0-0
Strikeouts 10 and 11 for Peters on the season in the 1st.
Weiss takes all six pitches for a two-out walk.
As I type that Jacome throws a wild pitch.
Two out, man on second.
Both teams strand runners at second after Payton flies to center to end the inning. Hall went down swinging and Stell also flew to center.
Top 2nd: 0-0
Peters has a really good, repeatable motion with minor noise.

First hit of the day goes to Jackson Morrow. He leads off the top of the 2nd with a double to right.
Strikeout/wild pitch puts UCSB runners on the corners with one out.
Sac fly to left puts the Gauchos on the board in the top of the 2nd.
Bad luck for Peters there. Should be out of the inning.
Peters not quite as sharp in inning No. 2, allowing Santa Barbara to take the early lead after a leadoff double, a wild pitch and a sac fly.
Bottom 2nd: 1-0 UCSB
Good job getting out of it. Terrible jump by the runner at 1st
Yes a sloppy start for the good guys defensively.................
Thought that ball was gone when Hinojosa hit it. Not easy to get one over the fence at Disch-Falk.
Codey McElroy gets Texas' first hit of the game - a double to left-center.
After Felts was hit by a pitch Texas now has runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs.
Meeting at the mound for UCSB.
Texas strands two runners in scoring position as Marlow goes down swinging. The two-our rally goes for not as Texas can't bring anybody home.
Top 3rd: 1-0 UCSB
The USCB batters make Peters work, but he retires all three batters he sees in the third and gets K No. 3 in the process.
Bottom 3rd: 1-0 UCSB
