We're underway at The Disch. First pitch from Urban is popped up foul for the first out of the game.
After two quick outs to start Urban has hit a Bobcat and issued a base on balls. Two on, two out in the top of the first.
Two straight balls to the next batter brings out Skip for an early meeting.
3-1 pitch sent to left field for an RBI single. Texas State draws first blood.
1-0; two outs, runners on first and second
Urban handles a line drive hit right back to him for the third out. Things looked really good with two fly outs on four pitches but some command issues got him in trouble against Texas State's 3, 4 and 5 hitters that allowed the opening run.
Bottom 1st: 1-0 Texas State
Weiss and Payton return the favor in the bottom of the first. Weiss draws a walk and Payton hits the first pitch he sees off the right-field wall for an RBI double.
1-1; two outs, man on second
And then Hinojosa singles to right, scoring Payton.
Gottsacker strikes out to end the inning for Texas. The trio of Weiss, Payton and Hinojosa do their thing in the first to put Texas back on top.
Top 2nd: 2-1 Texas

Nice play by Erich Weiss on an inning-ending 5-3 double play. Fielded a hard-hit grounder, stepped on third for the first out and made a solid throw to first for the second. Urban gets a K, hits a batter and allows a single in the second.
Bottom 2nd: 2-1 Texas
Montalbano strikes out for out No. 1. Ty Marlow now getting his second AB of the season...
And he hits it over the left field wall for a solo home run. How about that. Hit the far wall of the Texas State bull pen.
Make that 4-1 after a double by Johnson and a single by Hall. Horns swinging and running aggressively today.
What just happened is why Augie has always been successful..............Marlow's first AB of the year and he hits a rocket out of LF...................he has hunches that pay off. Alan Turbow used to call it the magic of Texas Baseball.........
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
Weiss strikes out to end the 2nd but Texas adds two more with Ty Marlow's homer and Hall's RBI single.
Top 3rd: 4-1 Texas
Unfortunately for Texas there hasn't been a whole lot of that magic this season.
Travis Duke comes in for Urban with two outs in the 3rd. Texas State got another across the board with a hit, a walk, a wild pitch and an RBI ground out.
4-2 Texas; 2 out, runner on second
Duke gets a called third strike on the only batter he sees in the third to keep the Texas State rally to one run.
Bottom 3rd: 4-2 Texas
...............as I was typing that I knew somebody would mention that fact...............
Ty Marlow and Mark Payton off to a great start today. They're a combined 4-for-4 with 3RBI and 3R.
Marlow singles to right to score Payton in the 3rd to add to the Longhorn lead.
Top 4th: 5-2 Texas
Nothing doing for Texas State in the top of the 4th after Hinojosa turns a 6-3 DP.
Bottom 4th: 5-2 Texas
Pitching change for State. RHP Jeremy Hallonquist coming in.
Single and E4 puts two guys on base with one out and Mark Payton at the plate.
Make it 3-for-3 for Payton with a single to center. Hall scores from second giving Payton 2 RBI on the day.
Six straight batters have reached for Texas and the first four have now all come across the plate. Ty Marlow now up with Gottsacker on secind and Montalbano on first - one out.
Marlow ends the streak with a strikeout. Brooks Marlow now up with two on and two out.
Texas sends nine to the plate and gets four runs in the bottom of the 4th to push its lead up to seven. The Marlow bros go down with a strikeout and a grounder to second to end the Texas rally.
Top 5th: 9-2 Texas
