Anytime you can work in a Major League reference, it's +1.
Byrne has done this at every stop. Bleed the football program dry by raising ticket prices and then siphoning the money off to pay above-market prices for coaches in the non-revenue sports. Now, Bubba only cares about football (even Bubba is right once in a while), but what can he do? Nada.
I thought about just including the first line and leaving the follow-up line as an easy fastball for the next poster to clobber, but I decided I didn't have complete faith in the posting community yet. Some day. Some day.
I liked the way you did it. Clearly a bunch of folks still missed it so you were right. Upvote for you. If you have to go into great detail about the reference it isn't worth it.
You guys are all completely off base. It has to be someone with strong connection$ in the recruiting world. I'm going with Willie Lyles on this.
I guess the former Madem from the Chicken Ranch is out since she just passed.
American Light and Fixture Company, shower curtain ring division.
This deserves more than 6 upvotes. Well done

I heard the tranny miss universe made the short list!!!
The great thing is that Byrne was fired after their latest hire. I am not saying Sumlin was a horrible hire but I think they might have done better if they opened up the checkbooks a bit.
Not so fast, my friend.
Despite rumors, 'Bill Byrne is the at
College Sports Blog - Dallasnews.com provides the latest coverage, including commentary and blogs, of Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, SMU, TCU and other colleges.
Of course, he is still taking pot shots at Texas. (In this case, he may be closer to the truth than usual. Of course, we did get that "lovely parting gift" of $300M from ESPN.)
Aggie athletic director Bill Byrne says that the Longhorn Network's distribution issues aren't going to go away, as well as commenting on the end of the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry and his school's role in the formation of the LHN.

wait. could be Tellus. he has a one year contract as a backupTE with the Giants to suck. if he sucks as bad there a he did with Dallas, he's likely in his last year in the league. hes an absolute LEGEND the way he'll run that hole under his nose no matter how bad aTm is. he's pefect.
as far as bitter Bill and his comments about Texas not playing aTm? EFF YOU. he did his best to ruin and dismantle the Big 12. and it was out of spite.it was more important than getting in the SEC. they gain the entire benefit playing bigtime Texas, not the other way around. they get no favors from Texas or anyone else in the conference for that matter. enjoy your journey to hell because the SEC will beat you up. and if you thought every top recruit flocked to Austin and didn't want to play for RC, Franchione, and Sherman, wait until greenhorn Sumlin gets a taste of the SEC. BIG FUN.
It is a low risk move. Think of the money they will save on travel expenses. They will say "we booked you on a first class flight"
Dorrell: "no need. I prefer to ride coach"
I think we have totally missed a big point that should be in this thread. WHY WOULD THEY FIRE HIM NOW??? They are going to need to be able to fire someone once the football season starts. This would talke away one that could take the fall.
I did laugh out loud in my office when I read this. Nicely done.
They did a nationwide search and hired the best coach in Houston!

I'm going to miss Bill. He was good for laughs several times a week. I think they should have kept him.
If couldn't keep him at least let him write a column in the weekly newsletter!

I agree. If anything....just for comic value!
Nancy Pelosi...she's gonna need a job.
He could be a duffus, but he sure could pick coaches.
Too qualified, but the right moral character for the job.
