The problem I have with Diggs not starting is little more than a couple weeks ago we read practice reports that flat out stated from a source that Diggs was the best CB, period and that he would start because of it. Now just a couple weeks later, things have apparently changed. Why? Is it because they just realized he's not as good at zone coverage? I find that extremely hard to believe. If Diggs worked his way into a starting spot just a couple weeks ago, what in the world did he do to have Phillips take that spot away? The timing and progression of that information we've gotten and the move this week just doesn't make sense.
And furthermore, if Diggs is going to get as many snaps as almost any starter, why not reward him and let him start? Why ease him into it after the first snap as if that makes any bit of difference? He's still going to play, and play a lot. Why not give the man what he's earned. Oh yeah, Byndom and Philllips have probably spilt more blood since they've been here longer. From what I've seen and read it seems like Phillips and Diggs are the best two, leaving Byndom out of the starting CB equation. But we can't have that. Seniority trumps talent again. Derp, derp, derp.
Being upset about not starting Diggs would be justified if it wasn't Adrian Phillips starting in his place. Phillips has proven himself and I can't see a reason to be upset that he'll be playing.
