If he were a tad younger, I'd love to get Michigan's Beilein, and not just because Michigan is on fire today. I always liked his West Virginia teams with a great mix of motion on offense, which we saw first-hand a few times, twice in the regular season and once in a classic tournament game where Kenton Paulino hit the game winning three at the buzzer. When Beilein has talent and the right shooters, his teams can really roll.
Michigan is a young team:
Top 9 scorers and the rotation are 5 frershman, 3 sophomores and a junior
Trey Burke - Sophomore
Tim Hardaway JR - Sophomore
Nik Stauskas - Freshman
Glen Roninson III - Freshman
Mitch McGary - Freshman
Jordan Morgan - Junior
Jon Horford - Sophomore
Caris LeVert - Freshman
Spike Albrecht - Freshman
Enfield being courted by Minnesota and USC.
So true and such a sad truth about the leadership in the athletic department.
I wish we would hire him just so I could look at his wife.
Going to USC according to Katz for over a million a year.
USC hired Florida Gulf Coast's Andy Enfield to be their new coach, the school announced Monday night on Twitter.

Just what is the "unparalleled athletic tradition at USC?"
Giving OJ Mayo beaucoup bucks? The same to Reggie Bush?
Still running behind SMU, OU, and A&M, so not so unparalleled.
I know who I don't want as the next basketball coach at Texas. Check out this moron.
Rutgers coach Mike Rice was suspended earlier this season for three games for behavior in practice that, frankly, seems like fireable offenses. The video that you see inside will reignite the calls for Rice to lose his job, too.

I'm not surprised ESPN focused on the incident of throwing a ball at/near a player's head, but I suspect the players are more concerned about the multiple incidents of targeting the nads.

Agreed. I really can't believe that one of the players hasn't whipped his ass yet.
Also amazing that Rutgers didn't fire him.
If only Latrell Sprewell were on that team...
Ima choke a bitch-
I was amazed by the statement yesterday by Pernetti, the Rutgers AD. He admitted he knew what the public reaction would be once the story got out. So he has to be a moron for not firing the guy back then or accepting a resignation then to become effective at the end of the season or something. Keeping Rice as the coach while knowing he was going to have to fire Rice the minute the public became aware of Rice's conduct was completely stupid and calls into question Pernetti's fitness as AD. What else might be lurking there to be cured only upon being uncovered by news agencies, and don't you just think they are circling with all sorts of FOIA requests as I type?
I finally saw the video last night. He obviously should have been fired immediately. Actually, he needs therapy.
Obviously can't put your hands or feet on a player, or throw balls at them. That's just stupid. The ferry, faggot, and Lithuanian comments are just as bad. Not sure how he wasn't fired immediately.
The other language I have literally heard a lot of D-1 and H.S. coaches use. I've even heard a few call certain players a p#$$%. As a player, student, and assistant, I personally never had a problem with coaches saying these things, but I'm sure I will be in the minority.
Wichita State is now a few hours into the off-season. I wonder how many phone calls Marshall has received regarding coaching vacancies.
Hmm. Looks like Rutgers is the only power conference school without a coach. Marshall will be staying put unless something else opens up.
No, Gregg Doyel, probably not Syracuse.
The Wichita State team was one of the best coached squads I've ever watched play a game. It was a small miracle for Louisville to pull that game out. Please let Marshall be available at the end of next season.
God this is the offseason or cold season for basketball. Or maybe they just forgot about it. Did Bob Weltlich however you spell his name ever get the Horns to the NCAA tournament?
The answer would be "no." One year in the NIT was the only postseason appearance under Kaiser Bob.
Let's face it. Isn't that pretty much the key to winning in any sport? Even the best coaches don't win very much with poor talent.
It appears that the AD wanted to pull the trigger and the HR people said no. That's why Pernetti walked away with a big check (Rice did too, FWTW) and (I would expect) will be able to land another job sooner rather than later.
“Kansas may wind up number one in these polls, but that would be so unfair to Texas...” -- Len Elmore, 2/13/11
Difference is at WVU - Beilein didn't have elite level talent like he is pulling in at Michigan.
He was still able to get to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 beating lower seeded teams.
Now that he has elite players at Michigan he has made it to the title game.
FWIW, the evaluation of any hire at high D-I is subject to four words: "If he can recruit..."
