Only for the Swoopes announcement...The secret is still a secret...
There was a specific question posed asking if he was the silent and the answer was no.
just a comment. I sure wish women took verbal committments as seriously as football coaches. Would have saved me a WHOLE lot of money if you could just make those verbals and walk away like 18 year old high school kids.
if it's who I think it is (Samples), he might pull the trigger before the next junior day because Texas is bringing in several guys they could offer as a wide receiver.
Seems like this has to be Samples. I'm sure no matter how much the kid wants to say he's committed to Texas, he has to take a visit to each of the big Texas universities -- considering his dad's coach at a Texas powerhouse that puts kids in these schools yearly.
BARRETT!!!! Come on down!
- God Bless Texas
Coaching staff called him and told him that we are only taking one QB. He cancelled his plans to come to JD2. Per the best in the biz our own Bobby Burton.
I think its Wilson.
Good point made at the end of your post that would make sense even though I doubt other schools in state would stop recruiting Skyline because of an early commitment by the HC's son.
I don't think it's Samples. Didn't he post something on twitter saying something along the lines "im changing my display pic to me in a Texas jersey, but I am NOT committed to Texas"
'twas in jest...
Which goes along with him not wanting to announce it yet...
It's clearly Yarbrough.
Maybe. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Whew... that narrows the possibilities. Thanks!
I was thinking him or maybe even Perkins. (even if he didn't come to JD1)
Has Samples taken any visits since JD1 at Texas? I believe every other recruit that hasn't committed to Texas from JD1 has taken visits. Also Coach Samples wasn't at JD1 so when the coaches told him to go home and discuss with his parents that would make sense.

Bobby's post seems to imply that the secret/silent commit was with the coaches that JD weekend:
"Actually, the player did commit but according to our sources, the coaches told him to GO HOME, talk it over with BOTH of his parents and call them back when he was ready" [emphases mine].
Heck, I can't remember if only one or two of the outstanding recruits UT offered was at JD without both parents. And it is possible, GH, that the wording of Bobby's post leaves room for that silent recruit having been somewhere other than at UT on JD. I just don't think so.
I keep feeling like one of us is supposed to exclaim, "AHA... Colonel Mustard did it in the dining room with the knife!" This mystery-solving is serious...and very time-consuming...business. I'll bet Mack feels relieved that I'm putting so much time into helping him. :D

Me too. He'll take his visit to Eugene, and ultimately decide that it's too far away and commit when he gets back in March.
"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
That would be a dream with a happy ending if you know what I mean.
If it is Wilson, was it him over Barrett maybe? 2 rbs instead of 2 qbs.
