I don't disagree with criticism and I tried to clear it up in later posts but don't think I did a great job. I have no issue with being fed up by the lack of results, I am. I completely agree, he is the one constant in the program.
What I'm tired of (on both sides) is people trying to tie everything they hear related to anything into their argument for his firing or retention whether it fits in or not and either accepting rumors as completely true if it fits and total BS spin if doesn't. For example, you can think there are serious issues with the program and still think that Major taking over for Harsin is a good thing. You can think that Mack Brown should no longer be the head coach at Texas, but still think that Harsin left, not because of rumored constant meddling, but because he wanted to be a head coach.
BTW, not accusing you of any of the above.
Let me say that some of what ST wrote is complete news to me but seems logical. I certainly wondered if there was a disconnect on defense. We went from feeling that if our offense scored 24 we would win because Manny was the best dc in the whole country, to words that Jeff will not allow us to use about it (water stockade). We have the hand dealt to us as fans right now. Lets hope for a better tomorrow.

How is that different from any other media outlet, including this one? When it comes to truly meaningful information, nobody will reveals his sources, thus nearly impossible to hold anyone accountable. The only time a source is cited is the summary of a press conference, which mostly consists of "I like sunny days and puppy dogs" type of information.
My opinion of Scipio is that he may not be 100% accurate, 100% of the time, but I do find the logic behind his thinking to be very sound. You can also count on him being 100% entertaining 100% of the time.
Disciplina praesidium civitatis
Best part of the Scipio post:
"When Muschamp left in 2010 for Florida, it didn't take long for Bellmont and some of Mack's camp followers to begin a smear campaign against him to validate UT sticking with Brown. Oddly, some Texas sites and fans carried water for that campaign, despite its illogic.
They should think twice about doing it again."
We will rue the day Boom got away. Don't know about Harsin.
Your number 3 reminds me of someone who begins yelling obscenities and calling people names once they run out of ideas or thoughts during a disagreement. Well I got no answers to the problem so I will yell real loud and blame others.
It was comical watching this and other boards go through the 7 stages of grief, specifically the denial portion after boom left. I hope that the difference will be found in the following:
a) Brian Harsin is no Will Muschamp. Will Muschamp had been a a top flight defensive coordinator with success at the highest levels and NFL experience before he came to Texas. It was an absolute coup that we got him from Auburn. Harsin had success at Boise but had yet to show that he could install his offense or have success in a big conference.
b) Major Applewhite is no Manny Diaz. He is more of a known commodity and there will be some continuity. He was a guy that a lot of people thought should have been the play caller when Harsin was hired and is respected among his peers. Yes, he is not a completely known commodity, but at least he knows the players, is respected, and has been here.
Like you said though, we will see.
Roinson, Tomey, Chizik....it's not like Muschamp and Harsin are the first two coaches to move on.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
I found the topic conitive dissonance an interesting thread. Amazing how much influence Scipio has. Just got my Dec.17 SI. Nice long article about Manning, New York, and there are several references to C.D. Interesting.
