It is really tiresome to see the attacks on this kid for no real reason at this point. If you don't think QBs don't have to have an ego to get past all the crap, you were obviously in the band playing the tuba in high school. Coaches seek those guys out for a reason. There have actually been threads knocking on Ash because he isn't more rah-rah which almost always is a byproduct of ego.
We have our QB and we do need a capable backup which Case has proven to be, even if he doesn't have the sense to know that he isn't the normal kid that can say whatever he wants to his friends using social media like other idiot teenagers can.
The difference is Ash isn't a "rah-rah" QB congratulating OU or any of its players...McCoy has proven otherwise
Mack tells a group of boosters that losing to OU doesn't mean the season's over (paraphrasing) & that it's just 1 game...& now McCoy with his crap to Stills...why is it so difficult for some on this board, the Texas HC, and one of its QB's to realize that OU owns Texas right now...& now you wanna congratulate 'em??? Whatever...
Too many Alamo Bowl & Holiday Bowl mentalities in this thread...& quite frankly on the team
You guys do know that off the field, these guys are buds right? its only the fans that take the anger off the field. You would be amazed at how many kids from different teams are buds. Heck, they played with and against each other in high school, went to all star camps together, perhaps even recruiting trips. I guess you could say he should have said nothing, but the tweet in it of itself is meaningless. It has no effect on the gameplan for TCU by texas or the gameplan for OKst by OU.
That said, a better tweet could have said "kenny, I was sure hoping you had dropped that ball....LOL. Good catch man, good win". That probably would have killed any desire to even start a thread in the first place.
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
Case needs to learn how to DM.
Signatures are stupid. You should block them.
I think the team and the teams attitude is a reflection of the Head Coach. As a former player, I can tell you that I hate OU. I didn't like them when I got to Texas and I flat out despised them by our first game in the Cotton Bowl. Darrel Royal, Fred Akres and David McWillams all made it very clear that OU was our rival and that a loss to them was a ruined season.
Mack has tried to play off OU as one more game each year, no more important then any other. Bob Stoops gets it. He practices, game plans and focuses on Texas 365 days a year. I say this as a compliment, he understands the importance of the rivalry. It permeates throughout his program and the results show up on the field year after year.
I am sick of Mack Browns touchy feely family atmosphere bullshit. I am sick of losing to OU. Seeing OU hang 60+ on Texas for the third time under Mack Brown made me want to punch Mack in the face. Case McCoy can go fuck himself.
Wow, you've given me a lot to think about. Mind blowing stuff right here...
Disciplina praesidium civitatis
Case is a great teammate? Really? Is that why he was out looking to transfer during bowl practices last year, only to come back when he realized nobody outside of ACU wanted him?
Until we hear otherwise from an actual teammate, I don't think we know whether he's a great teammate or not. Players don't have the same perspective we do.
This is the correct answer. I don't think everyone is as pissed at Case as they are at the soft culture that Mack creates. From over complimenting other teams, writing letters to opposing players or playing scared in the Cotton Bowl, fans are tired of Mack's BS. He is too much of a people pleaser even to our rivals.
No I wasn't in the band. I actually played DI football. How does Case's tweet have anything to do with ego? I'm well aware of the attitude it takes to succeed at a high level on the football field. My post has nothing to do with ego and confidence.
Ah, the subleties of social media. Maybe he can take a class for credit.
I love you.
post of the year....
This whole thread has nothing to do with any Longhorn's view of OU as our rivalry. It's just a cheap shot fired at Case, by the OP, who never even returned. But, man, did he ever have good aim, as evidenced by ut755's eventual comments ...
Hook 'Em! ...'til early in the morn.
Well if you didn't like them as a player, that must mean all players should feel the way you do. I guess Jordan Shipley can go fuck himself too for being good friends with Stephen McGee. Now that I think about it, Colt when fishing with him a few times too, Colt can go fuck himself!
I don't like the tweet either, since that game negatively effected Texas, but get over yourself. Players very rarely take the rivalries as seriously as fans do. Some of these kids grow up together, get recruited together, go to camps together, do photo shoots together. They're normal kids (uh-oh, everybody, I called college kids "kids" - AHHHH!!!) that don't live and die by that game. They should definitely think of the game as more than just one game in a season of 12 games, but they all have more important shit going on in their lives.
Now, regarding Mack, I don't disagree with you.
This is your finest post in the history of your posting, sir.
I love this post. POTY (post of the year for the acronym challenged).
