The release from UT:
Texas freshman OL/DE Jake Raulerson under went an emergency appendectomy earlier this evening, Texas Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd said. Raulerson will miss the rest of spring practice, but is expected to make a full recovery.
I guess the practices are more physical this year.
and the hits, they keep a comin'.
- God Bless Texas
Probably going to redshirt(hopefully) anyway.
Guy is a surefire red shirt next year, so it's not the end of the world, but it does suck that it happened right in the middle of spring camp. Spring reps for the young guys are important.
Man an appendectomy is some serious stuff. Both my parents had them and if not fixed in time it could kill you.
definitely helps to catch it as usually they can get you through it if you get medical attention on time. i'm ok with this. a redshirt year will do this kid wonders.
Man, tough break for the kid. Hopefully his dad (occasional poster on here) chimes in and lets us know how he's doing.
For what it's worth, I've known several people that have undergone emergency appendectomies and they all made full recoveries in relatively short periods of time. I wouldn't automatically count him out for this fall. Get well soon Jake, we need you.
