You can select any Longhorn on the current roster, along with any of the incoming 2013 recruits that aren't already on campus. If you had to select just one player off the 2013 team to get drafted the highest in the NFL Draft at some point, who would it be?
Just for fun, also list where you think he will go. Doesn't have to be an exact number, just a range (e.g. top 2 pick).
Curious to see what everyone thinks and who you guys choose.

well because even dominant RBs don't go very high. It has to be a QB, OL, DT, or CB. Sooooo, I'm going
DT Malcolm Brown #12 pick
Jackson Jeffcoat - 15-20 range
Malcom Brown (DT) - 10-20
Kennedy Estelle (big projection) - Top 10
I know Jeff is very high on Estelle as well and I think Bobby is too. I'm sure they'll like your projection.
I agree with you on Jeffcoat and Brown (with the range you have them in).
I, like Jeff, think Sheriod has the most upside and if he has a big next year or two then he's going in the first. His measureables and athleticism are just too freaky to pass on.
Kennedy Estelle is talented enough but he hasn't shown anything yet.
Jeffcoat has injury concerns which could have him slide to the second even with a healthy, productive year.
Malcolm Brown was good as a freshman but needs to keep improving and really stand out over the next two years.
Desmond Harrison is interesting- sounds like he's got all the talent in the world and an elite frame so if he has a great year or two he could be picked really high.
With all this being said I see it as:
Sheroid- top 25
Malcom Brown- top 25
Jeffcoat- with a good healthy season- late first with a chance to move into the middle of the first.
Kennedy- could be top 10 but with Harrison probably sliding into left tackle he'll have to be a great right tackle because he might not get a chance to play left. Its better for him if Harrison has a great year and goes pro and then he slides into the left tackle spot for his senior year and proves he can be successful there similar to Jake Mathews' situation.

You guys are all gonna feel dumb when Swoopes is a top 5 pick.
MBII - top 5
Adrian Colbert - top 15
J Gray - late 1st
Nope, If he is I'll just be happy for him and for us, because if he's a top 5 pick that means Texas is probably competing for a NC and winning the conference.
I purposefully avoided trying to predict both Swoopes and Heard. QB is too tricky to project in the draft.
For example, I'd consider it a huge success if Heard was as good a college QB as Geno Smith, and look where that got him.
Case McCoy will be a top 9 pick because there are GMs like Jerry Jones. He will trade all his picks for the next 3 years to move up and draft McCoy in first round.
In all seriousness. Malcolm Brown.. Top 15 pick.

It's interesting that were all so Hugh on Evans but the even bigger and maybe a step behind safety Colbert barely get a mention (good work mcb). When he figures it out, watch out, he'll kill it.
I definitely like Colbert, he has a chance to be great. But per sping reports he's still running behind Mykkele Thompson which is slightly concerning. He's only a sophomore so he's got time but by this time next year we need to hear the same things about him as we're hearing about Evans this year.
Well, since it is anyone on the roster and we could be talking 5 years from now, it could lead to a number of picks. Assuming Major works out a decent offensive game plan and Manny comes to some sense of reality on defense:
Curtis Riser 6
Jackson Jeffcoat 10
Kendall Sanders 12
Jonathan Gray 14
Duke Thomas 15
Kennedy Estelle 16
Shiro Davis 18
Adrian Colbert 20
PS- we are going to win a LOT of games if this is right.

Swoopes top 10, Darius James top 5, and MBll top 5.
Sheroid Evans better get a lot more physical to be drafted that high.
J.Gray will be a top 15 pick
You definitely get the optimism award!
DT Malcom Brown - 1st round ability for sure.
DT Hassan Ridgeway - high NFL draft potential
OT Kennedy Estelle - same
OT Desmond Harrison - same
WR Kendall Sanders - has that ability
Not betting on guys that have trouble staying healthy and significant injury history.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
Peter Jinkens, top 15. The league loves guys who can rush the passer.

If Jeffcoat can stay healthy for a whole season, I like him early in the 1st round.
Kennedy Estelle/Malcom Brown

Darius James. 4 year starter. Top 10 pick.
Even if he stays healthy all of this season I think the injury concerns will derail a 1st round pick. He already tore both pec muscles and the risk of reinjury is high. I see him more as a 2nd or 3rd round type of guy.
I think Mike Davis and Jordan Hicks could go in the 1st round. I'll go with Davis as a top 25 pick.
Very, very, doubtful.
Offense- Kenedy Estelle
Defense- Antwuan Davis
